A Huge Thank You to all of my FIRSTers
 

Hey everyone,

I wanted to take just a moment to thank all of you FIRST people for being here. Up until four years ago, I really did not have a direction to take my passion for teaching other than in the classroom. After taking over as coach of our team, it allowed me to do so much more to engage students.

On Wednesday, I was honored to be named the East Baton Rouge Parish High School Teacher of the Year out of 13 other high schools in our district. This is in large part due to my involvement with FIRST. Here is a great article - though the reporter didn't write about FIRST directly (a sad thing really).

Congratulations! Thank you for everything you do for your students, for your school, for your community, and for FIRST. Red Stick Rumble is definitely on my 5-year plan of offseasons to visit.
