Dean's Homework Insentive /Addon

Yesterday Dean Kamen gave a speech at the SUNYIT 2014 Commencement. afterwords he came and met with our FRC team and a couple local FLL, and FTC teams. Where he gave a speech( one of his best ones yet) and he also told us what he wished he said at Champs when giving out the homework. The homework is to build the alumni network and one incentive for doing it is you get a FIRST Alumni number. You might be asking well Dean what can my alumni number do for me. Well the alumni can be put on your resume and he has talked to some big companies who are also looking for engineers and students from STEM. The alumni number will show you were apart of FIRST which "gives students a boost ahead of everyone else in the real world" Dean's words not mine. Afterword he asked if we could help put the message out and let people to make sure they get all their team members to sign up. The details are still being finalized but he also said it may be like team numbers the earlier you sign up the lower a number you get or it may be your team number and your graduation year.
Anybody else think this is a cool idea? Also are you going to make sure your team signs up now.

What exactly is an alumni number? Seems like an arbitrary thing that is no different than listing FIRST on a resume?

Then again, I would totally be up for the race to get a low number.

Same question, I signed up a LOOOONG time ago and just logged in to update information. I cannot find said number anywhere.

I just list FIRST on my resume, it is much easier.

The alumni number isn't out yet sorry for the confusion. It is a system to prove you are apart of FIRST and they can use it as a way to look you up i am guessing. They want to build the alumni network because Dean said "you guys don't understand when in high school but you need to make the connections." and first can only track alumni currently signed up and those who won dean's list but there are many wonderful alumni who didn't get the chance with deans list.

Not to derail the thread, but the OP's spelling is atrocious, especially the subject line. If you want people to hire you, correct your spelling. To get hired you need to get your foot in the door. An incorrectly spelled word indicates you can't spell and you didn't proofread your resume/email/tweet/etc. before hitting send. Your alumni number won't matter because your correspondence will be dumped before they even see the alumni number.

Not sure i would want to work for someone who can't overlook a fairly minor error of misspelling a word or two in an open forum on the interwebz.
