It's a ridiculous address, and I actually really like the site, but getting a custom domain has been an issue, since we want to set up a host and a domain- this gets pretty expensive. Any questions anoyt the site, feel free to ask! I designed it.

You said that you are using WIX, if that is the case, having a host is not necessary. Also, if you would like to do a domain name, it is about $12 a year for just a standalone domain name. I can not remember if WIX charges to add a domain name to the site.

You have to pay foe premium which is like $13 a month and then the pay the normal yearly domain fee.

Here's our website again

It's not bad even though I know html and css among a few other languages and could have made a good site from scratch, something like wix allows non technical teammates to update it.

We use WikiMedia for our website. The concept was that this would enable a more collaborative site. Not so sure that worked entirely as planned, but it works a little.

A very positive aspect of using Wikimedia is that we have an extremely content-rich website. I had no so much appreciated this when I made the earlier post. The structure is flexible and adding content is fast and painless.

A down-side is lack of "flash". But in the balance, I generally prefer substance over "flash", so I am okay with this decision.

Our school prefers we have a host. Why? I don't know. I personally do not think it's necessary..

Trobots.com is a liquor store in Minnesota (Why?), so we had to use trobots.org

Our team uses Webs as it's pretty straightforward and gives us lots of flexibility. Recently we upgraded to a premium package, but their free websites work just as well. http://www.scrap4151.org

I think weebly is a nice platform to use... It's simple to use and can give nice results :) And if you modify the base HTML / CSS code, you can remove all their logos without paying :) Here's our website as an example (work in progress... It's far from being complete...) http://frci.weebly.com

CW Tech (2959) also uses WordPress. We've found it to be perfect for what an FRC team needs... If you have any questions about using WordPress, feel free to PM me!

Our website is: robotarians.org

Team 5254 uses Squarespace for our website. We have been very happy with it so far.

The website people in our team changed/updated our website last season. I don't know what it went from or to, but weebly rings a bell, but I may be wrong. It's a lot simpler and easier to navigate than the old one, with more relevant content.
