Re: How do you use your summer?

This summer we're doing a few workshops with Mercer, a local university that has been helping us out.
We're also working on fundraising, starting community service, working with learning how to program (our head programmer graduated and was the only one that fully understood LabView, everybody else understands in varying degrees), getting leadership in place, and maybe even starting an FTC team. We have to move rooms, so we're taking that opportunity to get more organized. We're also finishing up some work in order to keep a grant we received, and working on presentations for sponsors.
We also want to start trying to develop a better scouting system, and this summer would be a good time to start learning a little about app development.

Can you post more about your leadership retreat? What all is involved?

I'm not 100% on the details because our mentors like to be secret, but I believe our team will be going up to the Poconos in the fall during teacher's convention weekend. This would include team-building, outdoorsy activities and apparently no electronics to distract us either. I believe another team will also be joining and "competing" against us in them as well.
