We will have 6 (six) judging slots. These will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. o Send in a FIRST Chairman’s Award Executive Summary (same as FIRST typically requires for the Chairman’s Award). We expect that teams will just send in the same Executive Summary that they may have used for their Chairman’s Award earlier this year. o Due date for Chairman’s Award Executive Summary is October 5th o Prepare to present your Chairman’s Award to judges at the Duel. Currently, the presentation would be the same as a typical Chairman’s presentation at an official FIRST event. Depending upon the number of teams who are participating, we reserve the right to modify the presentation time. We expect that it will not change. o Let us know what you need for your presentation (AV, easels, etc.) - Our purpose for doing this is to provide teams another opportunity to practice with real judges (we expect to have at least one of the judges be an experienced Chairman’s Award judge) and to provide some helpful feedback for teams as they prepare for the 2015 competition season. Teams competing at Duel on the Delaware 2014 -
As with last year, I hope to visit the event with (hopefully) 2 GoPros and a Point-and-Shoot camcorder in tow. If all goes well, I plan on offering to record teams during their matches by putting a GoPro on their robot, another on their driver station, and using the point-and-shoot to record the robot from the stands. Here's a playlist of the compilation videos I made at last year's Duel on the Delaware (Thanks again, 75, 225, 1370, 1640, 3314, and 3974!). If any teams would like to volunteer to let me record one of their matches this year, feel free to PM me. See everyone in <20 days. :) |

Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Hello everyone,
I am from team 75. I would first like to say our team truly enjoyed last years event hosted by teams 365 and 316. We were looking forward to participating with you guys again, but unfortunately our team is having some logistical issues this year. We send our regards and wish all the teams good luck. -Adam Solovay |
Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Are there any plans for a webcast of the event?

I will be running it. Tentatively it will be live at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGqfCkopmGM There is a chance that we may be shut down by YouTube if we can't strip out the music from the announcer. If this happens we will switch over to http://www.twitch.tv/MOE365/ I hope everything goes smoothly. |
ATTENTION ALL TEAMS
Team 375 needs robot batteries to compete in the DoD. A water leak in thier building has recently destroyed the majority of thier battery supply. If you have extra batteries to loan, please bring them with you and loan them to our friends on the Robotic Plague. |
Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Team 341 is excited to once again be competing at Duel on the Delaware.
Also, we packed a few extra batteries for another team already so there may be a couple that can be shared. Just let us know! |

Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
If anyone at the event is monitoring this, something quite wrong is happening to the stream. It looks like some signals are getting mixed...

I can see it, but is there a stats page anywhere? TheBlueAlliance doesn't have it. Perhaps a twitter feed?

Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Storm Robotics wants to send its sincerest gratitude to everyone at the Duel for the work they've done to organize and run this event.
FTC 4390 and 7433 had a great day at the scrimmage and were able to get their bots running on the playing field yesterday. FRC 2729 gave it our best, thanks to our sister team 1647 for picking us and to 1218 for being great partners and collaborators as always. Fonzie, our robot, is now retired from this wild and crazy season! Congrats to the winning alliance and all of the award winners from the event. You all were class acts throughout the entire event. Again, thank you to everyone with 365 and 316 for organizing another great event. Events like these recharge me and get our team psyched for the upcoming season. Nate |

Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
The student judged awards were Engineering Innovation given to 1089, Spirit to 203, and Best Comeback to 375 for their lab's flooding.
Pictures I took from the event are up on MOE's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MOERobotics. For better quality I would encourage looking at the pics through the flickr link. Thanks to all who attended! It was a fantastic competition and the match replays were quite suspenseful. And to Mike from LuNaTeCs, the awards were beautiful! |

Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Team 384 SPARKY would like to thank the Duel on the Delaware staff for putting on a great event, we will be back. A special thanks to John Larock for putting up with all the blocked and bounced email due to the our school filters.
Thanks to all the teams that helped us out we could not travel with our usual team and equipment. SPARKY was truly appreciative of our fellow 2014 Va. Regional partner 2607 Fighting Robo-Vikings for picking us again for another great run at the eliminations, maybe next year we can return the favor. We would also like to thank 369 High Voltage for joining the alliance. Congratulations to 316 Lunatecs, 1640 Sabotage and 1089 Team Mercury for winning the Duel on the Delaware 2014 it was some of the best Final matches with have ever been in. We hope that SPARKY can get the opportunity to play with you guys at sometime instead of against. Thanks to all ounce again, we enjoyed making new friends and reuniting with old. Good luck in the coming season - see you guys in St. Louis 2015. Clarke |

No worries about the e-mail bounce-backs! We are simply glad that you guys could join us for your VERY FIRST DUEL! We expect to see you back next October! All the best this coming season. |
Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Right back at ya 384. Getting another chance to see you guys, let alone play in the eliminations, was a blast. Hopefully the waitlist will let us back into Virginia for the coming season so we can meet up again. I wish I personally had been able to coach at the competiton, but unfortunately I had another commitment for band. :(
And of course, thank you to MOE for holding this event. The team had a great time, and the addition of a webcast (with great support too) was absolutely wonderful for those who couldn't attend in person. We will too be back again next year. |

Thanks for putting on a great event. I had a great time. Go Moe!

Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Team 341, Miss Daisy, had a great day at Duel on the Delaware! As always, it was a great opportunity to try out new drivers, indoctrinate our newest members to Daisy spirit, and overall just have our student members try new things.
Thank you to MOE and Lunatecs for putting on a consistently great event. Everything ran smoothly and it was a lot of fun! Thank you to 4954 4-H Palindrome Robotics and 226 TechFire Beta for forming such an awesome alliance. It was great fun strategizing with you both to get as far as we did in elims! |

Just to clarify, 226 was a pre-rookie team, Velocity, based out of Cumberland, NJ. TechFire generously lent them their practice bot. |
Re: OFFICIAL THREAD - Duel on the Delaware 2014
Awesome event, as always. What else would you expect from 316 and 365? :)
I had the amazing opportunity to GoPro-up FRC Team 4954, Palindrome, during their whirlwind elimination run. I was able to attach one GoPro onboard their robot, another recording their drive team, and I also operated a handheld camcorder from the side of the field focused on their robot. There were a few small camera issues here and there, but for the most part I was able to overlay all three feeds into a single compilation video for each of their elimination matches. You can watch the videos for yourself here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...2OO07V4VAMd3qp. Thanks again to the members of Team 4954, you were all extremely welcoming and patient. Hopefully we get to work together some more in the future! Best of luck to everyone throughout the upcoming offseasons and in the 2015 season. :D P.S. I'll also be attending girlPOWER, Ramp Riot, and possibly Brunswick Eruption in the coming weeks, so if any other teams would also like to get GoPro-ed, feel free to let me know! |
