Wow, what a weekend. Thanks to Texas Torque for the invite. Little did we know that our quick trip to Texas would turn into such a wonderful road trip for our kids.

Using FRC contacts our team has and reaching out to the Texas FIRST's regional contacts we were able to schedule tours at Texas Instruments (thanks Steven, Rachel and Taylor) and NASA's Johnson Space Center (thanks Mason and Lucien). Both gave our students real world examples of the possibilities FIRST and STEM education bring to college and career.

And the Robot Remix was a great way to close out the Aerial Assist season. It was a well run but casual event. We loved the venue, Oak Ridge High School, with the pits just a few few feet away from the playing field (plenty of time for one of our drivers to sprint there and back during a match to get the backup laptop - yes we know that was against the rules . . . ) Even though we were more than 1,000 miles away from home we had several friends and family from the Houston area, including a sponsor who had never seen a match before, stop by and join our cheering section.

It was great hanging out with some old FRC friends and making some new robot friends too. Can't wait to see what some of the pre-rookies are able to accomplish during the 2015 season - and still hoping to get a TaRDIS team shirt at some point.

So glad we were able to have some of that amazing Texas BBQ on Saturday - what an wonderful treat, can't get that back home. The hospitality overall from Texas Torque and Mr. Rip was wonderful.

Probably some of the most intense but fun elimination matches we've had this season. And for some reason all of our kids stepped up their individual games at the same time. We got home after our 18-hour bus ride with some very excited kids pumped to get to work for the 2015 season. That's what an off-season is all about.

Not sure when we'll make it back, but thanks y'all for putting on a great event.

It was great to compete with you and your team. I enjoyed visiting with several of your team members.
