IRI Field Layout - 2014

1 Attachment(s)
Attached is the field and pit layout.

Note: You can unload and have your trailer in the North Lot Thursday Night / Friday, but they MUST be move Friday night. There is a Farmers Market on Saturday Morning and they use the entire North Lot.

We can leave trailers and park in the lots on the south and west ends of the building.

We should have access to the North Lot again in the afternoon for load out.

Why is all the Team Queing stacked on one side of the field? That is terribly inefficient. Who came up with that?

If I were to guess it would be to keep pedestrians and robots from intersecting so no one is held up by a crowd to get to a match, and no one has to hear "ROBOT!" it is actually really similar to the current South Florida Regional layout

That's not the case at all. There should be no spectators down on the field area whatsoever. The whole back end of the field is not even being used.

Ed, i think this is the same way we did it last year.

the east end of the field is the silent auction tables and there is a lot of people traffic.

You mean I can get my fill of robots AND Indiana grown cantaloupe? IRI just keeps on delivering.

It's the way that they did it the two years I went to IRI. It works pretty well. The teams there have had some experience in queuing  they seem to make out just fine.

They're actually muskmelons.

I remember using both sides of the field.
The only thing I would not recommend is doing a double deck otherwise there's too much opportunity to endanger team's equipment especially their controls.

Between the moderate forecast for this weekend and the farmers' market, this is shaping up to be even more fun than I anticipated.

As long as the corn on the cob stand is operational, I'm a happy camper!

Looking forward to seeing everyone, the NUTRONs leave at 5PM tonight and begin our longggg van ride from Boston!

Ed,
I promise it'll be ok and we can make minor adjustments as needed.
