Agreed.

The webcast looks awesome. It's high quality, good sound, and no issues so far.

The 30 second warning sound is different though. It's back to the 2011 minibot noise instead of the train whistle.

Let's hope we see fewer fouls as the day goes on.

6 Balls on the ground after autonomous mode. Ouch.

Those fouls seem warranted though, they were inside 1114 and were pretty rough with it.

Last match I watched full field view on my computer and score overlay (muted) on my phone so I could glance down for the score. They were about 2 seconds out of sync but it worked pretty well.

They posted on facebook that their breaker tripped. I've found that after one trip, breakers are more likely to trip again.

Currently this is summing off win/loss and decently counted assist.

I will update w/ the actual rankings when they are posted, so the predictions become slightly more accurate.

Yes. Either by someone at IRI posting, or by pictures of rankings, we will have accurate rankings at the end of the day and I will update.

Re: 2014 IRI WEBCAST

It looks like they're scoring autonomous mode wrong.

I thought I saw it in a few more matches(Match 29), but I'm pretty sure it's wrong here for both alliances:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJvm...RDiev&index=49

There are 4 red hot goals and two mobility bonuses. This should be 20*4 + 5*2 = 90 points, but red only gets 70.

Blue gets 4 balls in and and 3 mobility bonuses, so that means at least 75 pts, but they only get 65 points.

It may be possible that the field software no longer supports scoring more than 3 balls in autonomous mode.

I'm not sure about this match specifically, but the way we were told at the driver's meeting is that because the software only supports up to three balls, they're adding it in afterwards during teleop.

If you look at the score screen at the end of the match you linked, you can see teleop + auton does not equal the final score. Perhaps something is being added in manually.

You're right. I assumed that the scores would add up, and that it would be added on to teleop or auton, but I was wrong.

From the match I would guess contact inside the frame perimeter on 1114 due to their unfortunate collision and entanglement with 2056, but I didn't hear an official verdict either.

Regarding the webcast - huge props to the IRI video team for setting up nearly instant youtube uploads for match video. I stopped watching the live feed after it froze at a critical point a few too many times. With the "instant videos", I could watch the whole matches without interruption (and even pause and replay the big moments). I hope too see instant videos at more events in future!

That would be the FIRSTWA video team, suplemented by local staff, that was doing that. FIRSTWA did do training as that was part of the reason that members of the FIRSTWA video crew and the FIRSTWA equipment went to IRI.

In regards to the webcast, the entire thing was phenomenal. Despite the occasional lag and freezing screens, the high quality, available viewing choices, instantly recorded and posted matches, and perfect camera positioning made for a user-friendly and extremely entertaining way to experience the event. Huge props to the PNW team for such an outstanding job.

Speaking of, I have a personal request. Would the PNW video team be interested in writing a white paper on how they stream and video the events they do? I think everyone could learn something from this fantastic group of people, and the world would be a better place if all webcasts were done like this one.

Keep hitting "load more" at the bottom and you'll see all of the matches. The best part was each video was up within 5 minutes of a match finishing.

OK, so there are a few things to say.

First, we would like to thank everybody for all the support we received to make the live stream happen. The event was lots of fun and we learned alot.

We are working on documentation that should be released by the end of the summer.

We also archived the full field stream from elimination matches. That archive is on a computer in the rode case that will be headed back to Washington. Those videos should be up eventually.

There is still not automatic high goal scoring and it wasn't a misunderstanding. Similar to the default excuse for pedastool lighting issues the announcers made up a mostly true explanation without blaming the ref who just hit the button too soon. They decided to count refs as sensors
