I'd love to see the full list for game criteria. Instead we just have to guess since we know 4 out of 23.

Re: [FRC Blog] Frank Answers Fridays: August 8th, 2014
definitely disappointed to hear confirmation of what we have all feared: there will continue to be a severe lacking in the all-important cowbell department for the 2015 season...
words...there are no words... first, corndogs and now cowbells... when will you make the pain stop, Frank?!?!?! |
Re: [FRC Blog] Frank Answers Fridays: August 8th, 2014
What is FIRST using all of our registration fees for if cowbells are off the table? I demand more transparency, Frank.

Now the real question is where are corn dogs located on that list? That is truly all that matters.

I like the sound of "simple and objective rules."
I suggest not getting too fanatical about taking away referees' ability to use subjective, common sense judgment; otherwise we will still have nonsense like penalizing a team for bumping into a poorly built robot that subsequently drops a piece of itself onto the field. |

For those youngsters out there... More Cowbell! It's sure to make a lot of people (like me!) feel old when they realize this year's incoming FIRST freshmen were probably born the year that sketch played on SNL :ahh:
Hey, wait a minute... that sketch aired 15 years (to the month!) before the 2015 champs! I think this might actually be a game hint! |

Well obviously the numbers 0723 are not a game hint. But the picture itself must be a game hing since he writes the sentence "This is a game hint!" right below the picture. Look at the displays. They are layered. Obviously the field will be made up of 4 levels and each driver station will be on a different level.
3 dimensional chess anyone:) |

**Obligatory game hint comment**
Oh! Look! The number on the team-number boards say 0723 which is hex for 1827, the year Robert Brown noticed Brownian motion in pollen grains suspended in water. Starting to think we'll get our water game for 2015!! |
Re: [FRC Blog] Frank Answers Fridays: August 8th, 2014
Introducing the 2015 FRC event: Corndog Cowbells!!!
Corndog Cowbells is played on a 27' by 54' field, with red and blue cowbells facing upwards surrounding the field. Corndog Cowbells is played 120 corndogs. The objective of the game is to fill the cowbells with corndogs, the higher the cowbell, the more points they are worth. The Match starts with a 15 second autonomous period, where each robot starts with three corndogs in possession, and attempt to score the corndogs for more points. At the end of the autonomous period, drivers step up to the controls... |

Just remember, folks: Injury to any audience member from flying corndogs is worth massive negative points. Plan accordingly. Also, huge additional bonus for launching condiments with the corndogs, unless they're pre-applied.

After FRC's yearlong obsession with corndogs (really seems more like a decade), this picture accurately describes how I'm starting to feel every time they come up as a topic of conversation
![]() Every meme gets old. Corndog is the new water game. |

Oh I'm in for this picture upgrade. I need to dig in my archives, I have a picture of Dean and I together.
And you non-corn dog eaters, (or as they say in Northwest Ontario "Pogo") you need to dial down the hate. The corn dog is the perfect robotic food. It has protein, starch, some sugar if you put ketchup on it. And it comes with a stick that can be used to repair almost anything. A good corn dog vendor can crank out 100's per hour, lets try any other food place doing that. IRI isn't about the robots or the teams or the competition. It's about the grilled in the husk corn on the cob slathered in butter and the corn dogs coated with condiments. Where do you think 3 days of energy comes from? What makes the teams flip into overdrive? Hint, it's not egg McStuffins. It's the perfect food, corn, used in two perfect ways. We can all visualize a Corn Dog Gatling Gun (some teams doing the West Coast, others doing Swerve) to the nines. Not seeing posts of "Here is our NE lobster launcher. Hey launching Bay area shrimp here!. Oh and the Hawaiian kids Pineapple launcher <danger Will Robinson>. Nope, the perfect food and launch-able meal is the corn dog. |
Re: [FRC Blog] Frank Answers Fridays: August 8th, 2014
im sorry to reveal to the first community that I dislike the taste of corndogs greatly I know this a shameful coming from a first alum but please don't make the first obsession with corndogs a reality with a game..... LETS DO THE OTHER FIRST OBSESSION AND MAKE IT WATERRR!
Order of games: Corndog lunacy ultimate ascent every other first game played and thought up water game |
