As many of you already know, the first annual RoboReboot was held last year and it was a large success. Also, this was the first time I had volunteered for a FIRST event and I really did not know what to expect. I was immediately welcomed with open arms and was shown the ropes as the people who were giving the training really took time and helped me understand what was actually going on. On the practice day, I made a few mistakes that might have cost teams points, but every team and all the event staff were very willing to help me improve. On the competition day, I was fully prepared and was becoming very fond of volunteering for FIRST Robotics. At the end of RoboReboot, it was by far the best experience I have had as a volunteer, and I highly recommend anyone going because I really felt at home, and I highly encourage teams to come to this great event!

Does anyone have recommendations for hotels in the area?

It looks like there is nothing in the immediate vicinity of the event, but there is stuff on the highway to the east (Arlington) and west (downtown Fort Worth).

Thanks!

Being that I'm a newly relocated experienced FRC Mentor from MAR now living in Lewisville I plan on attending to check it out. :)

Hey - 1296 will be there but I can't make it. The students will show you the machine and tell you about our operations in Rockwall!

Be sure to ask pit admin for me. I will be sure you get a button so you can get up close to all the action.

Wow! What a fantastic event! We really had a blast playing against some really awesome teams this weekend. That last match was a nail-biter.

All the teams present were fantastic to compete against/with, and we are glad we get to see yall around the state on-season and off.

Congratulations to the finalist alliance for keeping us on edge towards the end. We were seriously worried about the alliance you guys assembled.

Special thanks to our partners 4364 and 2723 for helping us pull off the win. When we had issues the Metal Jackets really stepped up and scored when it counted most. We loved picking Atomic Shock as you guys are a really class act team. We were really happy to help you last year when your program was struggling and looking at yall today, nobody could ever tell.

We finally hit our season stretch goal. We single-handedly scored all 30 totes from the player station in five 6 stacks, 3 with can and noodle, for 150 points, not once, but back-to-back!

Also thank to the hosts 4206 for yet another great off-season event. While small this year and last, I feel this competition will be even bigger and better in future years! We hope be out there again!

Thank you so much for your help the last couple of years. I was new to the team this year, but heard a lot of stories about the wonderful help you gave our team last year at OKC, and saw it myself this year. It means a lot to us to have you guys looking out for us and helping us improve.

Sorry we didn't get that other recycle bin for you and 4364 in the playoffs. We tried! I was the 2nd driver on the team (controlling the can burglar), and it was fun trying to see the can through the wall of totes and also keep out of 4364's way! But I got to see the awesome stacking up close and personal. Congratulations on reaching your goal! Thank you again for picking us. We had a great weekend thanks to all the awesome teams.

Thanks also to our first alliance partners, 4364's rookies with their 2nd 'bot. It was a lot of fun playing with you, and it's amazing you put that robot together in 3 days. Great job!

2881 Lady Cans -- you had a great robot and we loved meeting you. Since we have a lot of girls on our team who can learn some things from you, we'd love to keep in touch and hope to visit central Texas for FTC (we are also 4964 the Rockettes) or FRC this year.

1710 Ravonics Revolution -- thank you so much for being our stacking buddy during the practice rounds and a couple of qualification rounds. Our robots were a perfect compliment for each other and we had a lot of fun hanging out with you. You also have amazing outreach and you are a team we really look up to.

Thanks to the FTAs for helping us solve our electronics problems early so we didn't have to deal with it as much in the qualification matches. We had a bunch of mechanical problems in the playoffs, but were able to patch it with zip ties, duct tape, and a couple of clamps and a vice grip that are still on the robot to hold things together. :D

Robovikes 4206, you put on a great event, and we hope to come back next year! The experience we got playing over 30 matches in two days was insanely awesome. We learned so much and actually had a robot that could score points for the first time in a long time (so I've been told).

Thanks to everyone for making our first offseason event ever so special!!! :D :D :D
