Re: 2015 MAR Season
Anyone know the status of another scrimmage being run with a MAR field this year? I'm pretty sure Watchung High School held it in 2014.

Also, 3 more teams have registered for North Brunswick as a third event:

Re: 2015 MAR Season
According to MORT's facebook page they're going to the Pine Tree District in New England for week 3.
Currently there are twelve teams signed up for three MAR districts (There were 10 last year). Ten of those teams will be going to North Brunswick for their third event. Additionally, we lost a rookie. The homeschool team (5435) from Hamilton, NJ has dropped out of both of their districts. It seems like CD moved us from a MAR specific subforum to a District event subforum. This thread wasn't showing up in my portal so I was missing it for a few weeks. |
Re: 2015 MAR Season
Do we know of any other team signed up for inter-district play besides MORT? I thought there might be more teams willing to mix things up.

Re: 2015 MAR Season
Here's what I saw from a quick glance through the events
11 - Pine Tree 102 - UMass - Dartmouth 316 - Pioneer Valley 1811 - UMass - Darmouth 3314 - Waterbury That's A LOT of teams leaving the district |
Re: 2015 MAR Season
Congratulations to 2016 on their EI win in South Florida. That means the first points slot at MAR Champs will be consumed, unless they qualify again through MAR.
In light of the issues with reporting Week 1 event data, I created a rankings spreadsheet with the event data from Horsham and an overall rankings display for Week 1. While the rankings should be roughly accurate, I did the math for determining qualification ranking points by hand so take the exact numbers with a grain of salt (or if somebody else has more exact numbers, let me know) Link to Rankings EDIT: Updated with more accurate point values (Thanks Antonio). It seems like the official event data is already starting to come in anyway. |
Re: 2015 MAR Season
Most of the teams competing at regionals are done, with only 341 (Vegas), 11 (Hawaii) and 4575 (Queen City) still having to compete. Currently 2016 (South Florida EI), 1923 (Tech Valley EI) and 2590 (Montreal Winner) have claimed spots in St.Louis, but I expect one of 11, 341 and 4575 to qualify in the next two weeks.
In other news, I absolutely love the new ranking website. It's so easy to use and having up to date numbers without all of the work I did last year is great. |
Re: 2015 MAR Season
A few additional MAR teams have registered for the championship via the wait list, those being teams 41, 203, and 223.

Re: 2015 MAR Season
According to this blog post MAR will be sending 25 teams plus the pre-qualified teams and waitlist teams.
Does this mean that, in addition to the 8 slots taken up by the Winning Alliance, Chairmans*2, EI*2, and RAS, there will be 17 points slots (up from last year's 10)? |

225 - TechFireInterestingly enough, the points based approach I used in past years gives the exact same set of teams. I expect the cutoff to be around 55-57 points. |

I ran the numbers for the teams definitely qualified and definitely not qualified. The threshold will lie between 53 and 70 points, though much higher than 60 is very unlikely.
I've attached my analysis spreadsheet. EDIT: Noticed an error, minimum threshold 56 -> 53, fixed spreadsheet attached. |
Re: 2015 MAR Season
Also want to point out that there are now 5 MAR teams registered for champs off of the wait-list (41, 102, 203, 223, 1391)
