[FTC]: Help With Linear Lift?
Hello. I am currently a member of a rookie FTC team that recently finished brainstorming ideas for this year's game. We found a solution that we all liked in the form of some type of linear lift that would collect the balls with a conveyor and dispense them with the linear lift. Unfortunately, our mentor doesn't have an engineering background and as we are a brand new team none of us really have a good idea on how to build this design. If anyone has some tips on how to build a reliable linear lift it would be very much appreciated. A few of us know how to use Autodesk Inventor so if you're happen to have any CAD models we could look at that would be extremely helpful. We definitely wouldn't want to steal any designs, we just wanted to get an idea on how to execute our design and go from there. Thanks!

Re: [FTC]: Help With Linear Lift?
Welcome to FIRST on your rookie year!
Youtube is a great source for finding all types of lifts. (Ring it Up, is a good year for lifts) Both of my teams that I mentor are using a "drawer slide" type lift. We bought the drawer slides from our local Home Depot. We then added sheets of metal between our slides in order to hold all the pullys for the lift to go up. On the back of the lift we are going to have "drums" or "barrels" to collect all the string that brings all the lift up. If you look at one of our twitters, there is a CAD model to give you an idea sorta of our lift. https://twitter.com/trojans8640 |
