[FTC]: [FTC] Team 9166 robot reveal video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=f6fOLxhZjto

This is a unique team, from a combination of students from Highland Park, Illinois and Yeruham, Israel.

FTC doesn't exist yet in Israel, so we will be at the qualifier this coming Sunday, in Highland Park.

Please feel free to express your thoughts about our robot =]

Very cool. Are you guys going to the Lane Tech Qualifier?

I might have to go to two FTC regionals that weekend now.

Yup. The robot is boarding the plane ATM actually.

That's a pretty interesting design.
We saw one team at a Pennsylvania match with something like that, but it had some issues with consistently getting the ball all the way up their guidance tube.

How fast can you guys reliably use the launcher mechanism?

How are you guys launching the balls? I can see a servo but that's about it. I wouldn't think that has enough power to shoot it that high.

In the CAD It looked like there was a motor with a spiral cam on it. I assume there is a stretchy material wing pulled back. Making the mechanism shoot.

That's absolutely correct.

About the shooting speed, you can see it in the video, when we just shoot balls at the camera. It's real time.

We can basically shoot as fast as we can collect...

We haven't tried anything on an official field yet. We don't have one in Israel.
We will however test it quite a lot prior to our first qualifier...
I will let you know how it goes, hopefully with videos...

Congrats on the win. Don't forget the 2nd place inspire, it's rare a rookie team gets so close to an Inspire award.

Also just as a note try to get a new Samantha with a working blue light. As the FTAA it is concerning to not see it work!

Samantha's are illegal in Israel due to it's bandwith being used by the military and is closed to public use, so we cant bring it into the country, and we only loaned one for the event.
Will try to get a better one for the State Champs =]

Thanks =]
