Re: [Behind the Lines] Ep. 5 with the 2015 Control System Beta Teams!
I'll definitely be tuning in tonight. I have a question ... who is your favorite beta testing team? And as a follow up, why is it Team 900?
I'm kidding... I just want to say thank you to all of the beta testing teams and NI, WPI, and FIRST. You have all been awesome to collaborate with. We're glad we could participate and provide feedback. It's been a fun project to work on and I know our team has learned a lot and I hope everyone else has as well. For a serious question, what has been your favorite part of the beta testing? Any memorable experiences to share? |
Re: [Behind the Lines] Ep. 5 with the 2015 Control System Beta Teams!
To the teams who played through multiple events and/or won events with the new control system, was your overall competition experience any different with the new control system or was it just about the same?
Austin, if you could elaborate on how it was to run one robot with the new control system and two with the old ones at Throwdown and any possible differences you noticed between the overall experiences each team had, it would be greatly appreciated. |
Re: [Behind the Lines] Ep. 5 with the 2015 Control System Beta Teams!
Some questions of my own:
Has the FRC programming API changed a lot for each of the languages, or are the differences in the actual software to implement miniscule? To what extent can onboard vision be done before we start seeing clock skew/processes running slow on the FPGA? Has sensor integration been easier, harder, the same as before? How about PID and current control? |
Will this be recorded? I won't be available to watch live but really want to here the discussion.
