Coopertition Stack, Recycle Rush's very own prisoner dilemma

EDIT2: Disregard everything I said below, and note that the failure mode for clever is being an idiot. Blue box on Game page 19 says during teleop yellow totes can only score as part of coopertition. So there's no reason to steal them back like I just suggested.

I'm just gonna note this now so I can seem all clever later. I'm pretty sure high level negotiations for coopertition stacks are going to be fraught. Especially in the playoffs. On the one hand, 40 points for both alliances. On the other hand, a tasty tasty 4 tote stack for someone to grab 3 seconds later after the stack is scored...

I'm not sure why they didn't make it an end of match thing if they wanted to really encourage teams to go after it in all cases.

EDIT:Missed the playoff exception.

3.1.2.4 "*COOPERTITION SETS and COOPERTITION STACKS will not receive points during the Playoff MATCHES."

Kevin, you were around in '03. How many stacks did you see being moved around as stacks?

Other than by 217, who could shield their stacks pretty well, that is.

Also. The coopertition stacks are made out of different totes than the normal stacks (yellow rather than gray), precisely to prevent people from "kidnapping" them and using them for their own gain.

Those totes didn't stack nearly so well as these, and there was actual defense to contend with. These totes stack better and once you back them off the step, you're safe from interference

+1 for clever I thought that when I saw that the coopertition score was added immediately. That left the yellow totes free for later use / scoring.

Who knows what the GDC is thinking, but I'm thinking "pick up four totes, score them in Coop mode and grab them back" as a strategy. There will be a depends on the score team on how far back you need to be to count them as scored.

I also noted in the rules that there is a height limit but not a width / depth limit for a robot in play. So hording the yellow totes to stack is in the realm of possible.

Blue box at the top of page 20.

During TELEOP, Yellow TOTES can only score as part of a COOPERTITION SET or a COOPERTITION STACK.

You cannot take the stack and move it to your scoring platform for points.

Can you use the yellow totes as bases for the recycle bins?

Page 21. A RECYCLING CONTAINER is scored if it is fully supported by only scored Gray TOTES.

Right, sorry, I posted before reading the rules a second time. First time was a quick read when I though I had an AhHa moment.
