Interestingly enough, there's a very specific rule on how you put totes in the chute. You cannot apply any sort of force to the tote, it has to slide, and also when putting it into the chute both hands must be on the chute. You cannot have one hand on the door area and one on the chute, you'll get a foul.

Can you cite the rule for that?

I don't see most of that in the rules... only this:

Quote:

G6 A single ALLIANCE member may not be in contact with both a TOTE and the CHUTE DOOR simultaneously.
VIOLATION: FOUL.
Also, G5 prohibits more than one alliance member in each human player area, so that deals with the possibility of one person opening the chute door while another pushes the tote out the chute.

OK, I think I see what happened. The poster mixed up the words "chute" and "tote" in a couple places.

For example, you don't have to have 2 hands on the chute. (Nor 2 hands on the tote for that matter.) And you can touch both the chute and the door at the same time.

Here is the blue box that goes along with G6:

For details on the operation of the CHUTE DOOR, please watch the Field Tour videos on the FRC YouTube channel.
Here is the link to the field tour video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sryrCE4mAo. This should give you a visual illustration of how the totes are suppose to be entered into the playing field

You can also apply force to the tote provided you do it without contacting the tote and chute door simultaneously (e.g. by using a noodle as a ramrod). I wonder if we'll see an update or Q & A about that.

Does that not count as "contact" as per rule G6? But, I guess that's what the Q&A is for.

It is good that I am re-reading this and having this in mind to tell my team.

Now I can be sure we don't have any fouls on our team, because I know there is going to be a lot of fouls given for that rule. Not every single person read that rule.

Re: Human Player handling of totes and litter

That Tote is huge...Robots are huge...Robots can move fast....Hands are very special....You like your hands....FIRST and the rest of us want to see that you keep your hands....Therefore, do as was designed. Insert the Tote into the Tote chute....Tap it (the rear of the Tote), against the Tote chute door once. Then move your hands fully away from the Tote and use one hand to lift the handle for the Tote Chute Door and allow the TOTE only by gravity feed to slide into the Field area. (Please DO NOT attempt to use Litter please for a non-intended purpose as, IF you contact both the Tote in the chute, and the Chute Door Handle at the same time, you will incur a G6 Penalty, and your Alliance Partners will not be very happy with you).

G6 A single ALLIANCE member may not be in contact with both a TOTE and the CHUTE DOOR simultaneously.
VIOLATION: FOUL.

Contact with, both at the same time...key words. What you described=G6.

That is how you will keep your hands safe....Now, PLEASE GO WATCH THE VIDEO!:yikes:

Can a human player move more than one tote or litter at the same time (i.e. could I grab all 10 litter at the same time and carry to the human player station)?

(emphasis mine)

Why do you only count two human players? There is one per team, therefore three per alliance. One in each feeder station, and one that can roam. I would assume he (or she) would feed noodles and totes to the two in the feeder stations.
