Tote Stack Maximum
Is there a maximum to the number of totes you can put in a stack other than your robot's physical limit? The rules explain how the point values increase the higher they go, but don't really cover what happens when your stack exceeds 6'6", i.e. 7+ totes.
Do all totes above five go 6x, do they continue to increase (6x, 7x, 8x...), or can we NOT go above 6? Read everything twice; couldn't find an answer. |
Re: Tote Stack Maximum
I believe the max is 6.

My team originally thought we could stack unlimited crates:D but after further review it's not allowed

Interestingly enough I don't see BACKSTOP defined even though it is bolded. Regardless, it's clear to see from the figures below that description that a max of 6 TOTES would fulfill that criteria. I did a quick calc and it looks like you're clear by about 6 inches from the top of the BACKSTOP at 6 TOTES. |

Re: Tote Stack Maximum
The backstop is defined on page 8 of section 2 in the (current) manual. It's the 6'6" aluminum pipe that shows the 6 levels (white gaffers tape). This is also why the maximum is 6 totes.

Re: Tote Stack Maximum
I do got a question. I don't know if this is relevant. But according to rules, would it be allowable to have the recycling container (trash can) be on two separate stacks of grey totes that are side by side? I am mainly thinking of the case were a container is on it's side (not upright). The container would be more secure on two sets of stacked totes side by side rather than trying to balance it on one set of totes.
