Tote CAD file update

Based on the comments about the size of the tote I contacted the company who provided the 3D model to the software vendors that support FIRST teams.

1. Their intent was to provide a representative 3D model. For example, the lid is not comprised of a hinge assembly, and that there are a few rounds missing here and there. There are also no zip-ties or holes to zip-tie the lids closed. This should not impact your simulations.

2. They agree that the 3D model is smaller than the actual tote and it is important to correct the dimensions. The base of the tote appears to be correct with the upper lip being the issue.

3. They did not include the dividers as per comment 1.

4. They have provided me with updated STEP files and I will make those available on A360 Drive by tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the feedback from the folks that spotted this issue.

For those without an A360 account, here is a link to the files on Dropbox.

Re: Tote CAD file update

Could someone post these updated tote files as STEP files or Solidworks files?

My version of Solidworks2014 or AutoCAD2013 will not import them.

thanks,
Adam

For those that want the updated (correct size) tote with the lip undercut and the fins on the side:

Inventor and STEP included. Note Yellow does not have the vision targets installed. The weight for the Inventor files have been set and the CoG confirmed

Enjoy!

Thank you so much! This was very helpful to our team for modeling a pickup mechanism for the totes.

Can someone convert these to .stp please? Can not open them in inventor 2014.

Adam,

Looks like the STEP files are included in the ZIP file posted by Jake.

Thanks for the updated totes

We have old totes from previous seasons. As you can see, there is a gap where lid and body meet. However, in the CAD file of the new totes, they seem not to have that gap there.

Is there any gap in this year's totes?

Re: Tote CAD file update

Yes there is an undercut. When I downloaded latest step it looks like this represents the original version and not the latest updates which I understand were to add undercut and some missing ribs.

Since our team is stuck using Inventor 2014 we also have to rely on step data.
