Is there anything on the rules that says If the use of vasiline in the robot is legal or not?

I personally don't think there is anything specifically against using Vaseline, but I have to ask what on earth you would be using Vaseline for.

I don't see anything in the rules about it.

Code:

R8 ROBOT parts shall not be made from hazardous materials, be unsafe, cause an unsafe condition, or interfere with the operation

of other ROBOTS.

If you make sure that the Vaseline can not ever contact the ARENA or the GAME PIECES then it might be ok. But you need to ask the Q&A for an official ruling.

If you are using it as a lubricant, just make sure it's in the robot and doesn't contaminate field elements or the field itself. And, there's almost certainly a better lubriant or sealant out there better tailored for the application than vasaline.
