Running PID on Jaguar vs on RoboRIO

Can someone explain what the difference would be between running a PID for speed control on the Jaguar vs on the RoboRIO through LabView? Also, how would the program look different between the two and if we ran it on LabView, what mode setting should we set the Jaguar to?

I'm fairly new to programming, if you need additional information please ask.

Thank you for your help!

You have much more control if you run it through the RoboRIO than if you run it on the Jaguar. Unlike the Talon SRX, the Jaguar's sensor inputs aren't sent to the controller.

You are far better off on the RobotRIO, though the PID on the Jag may be faster.

This may be true, but I don't see it being an issue with the performance improvements of the roboRIO.
