Penumatics confused

The air compressor is set up and I turned it out with the pressure sensor attached to the PCM. When does the compressor turn off. I did not calibrate or do anything to the pressure sensor besides wiring it. The gauage indicates 80 PSI and I manually turn it off because I am afraid to go any higher. I can keep the compressor on and use the Pressure regulator to releses the air to prevent the PSI from going higher than 80PSI

The high pressure side of the robot should be at 120 psi, give or take a few. You then step down to 60 PSI for the low pressure side, through a regulator.

Make sure you have gauges on both the high and low side, a manual release valve, and a blow off valve. Read and re-read the pneumatic section of the rulebook - there are some great pictures in there showing you how to hook everything up.

Tom,
In addition to Jon's advice, the pressure relief valve may not (more than likely not) be calibrated. It is possible for this device (the big brass hexagonal fitting) to be calibrated at less than 120 psi which would run the compressor all the time while releasing air from the valve. The pressure switch will shut the compressor off somewhere between 115 and 120 psi showing on the high pressure gauge. During inspection we will check this operates as expected as well as checking the calibration of the relief valve.
