2015 Saint Louis Regional

I know that my rookie team 5583 SistamatiK (Rosati-Kain HS & Girl Scouts) and my veteran team 931 Perpetual Chaos will be at the STL regional at the Chaifetz Arena this year. Who else plans on attending?

You can look up the full team list on thebluealliance.com, click on events, find St. Louis and bingo there you have it.

But it is more fun to communicate with the other people attending before hand!

Robolions will be there, we are looking forward to another awesome event.

Exactly, Walter!
I am mentoring a rookie team this year, so trying to make as many connections as possible in our region. We are not traveling for a 2nd regional, so want to make sure my team gets as much out of our STL regiknal as possible.
Goal: win all the rookie awards plus as many of the others as possible! We wanna start out with a bang!

Team 5583 Sistamatik (first all girls team in the region!)
Rosati-Kain High School
Girl Scouts of Eastern MO

Lutheran Roboteers, 4329, will be there and ready to play. If you guys, or any other team that's planning on attending, need any help or advice (even if it isn't during the competition itself) my team and I will be glad to help!

Look forward to seeing everyone there, it's always a fun time!

I probably met you at Gateway. I am the Boeing Mentor for Boeing / Carnahan Robotics Team.

I do a one hour activity on engineering process, hit me if interested :)

Cheers,
Marcos.

Marcos, that is quite possible.

We meet Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-7 and Saturdays 9-4, if your schedule would allow you to stop in. I think that would be greatly beneficial to my kids!

Nathan, your Roboteers made an impression on me last year, and I have made sure we are following yall on social media.

We are at the point of needing to turn our idea into a working model and will hopefully get over that hump today. We have a couple of Boeing mentors and one of my former Rockwell Automation coworkers.

Team 1208 is proudly returning to the St. Louis regional! As always, we are anxious to assist any FRC team, as we have been helped in the past (thanks 931). There are St Louis FRC Alliance virtual meetings scheduled (see attachment) to facilitate team cooperation.

3885 will be back and better than ever this year at the STL. Regional. The best part of Saint Louis is the helpful atmosphere that occurs throughout the weekend. If your team is having issues right now or needs guidance on what the event will be like feel free to either pm or contact me (info is in the sheet Mr. Curry posted) for help.

Camdenton 4-H LASER 3284 will be returning to the SLR for 2015. We look forward to seeing all of all of the teams at this fun filled venue. Although located 3 hours from St. Louis, we would be willing to assist any other FIRST programs in FRC, FTC, FLL, or Jr. FLL. We use Robot C for FTC and are using C++ for FRC programming.

Unfortunately FRC Team 1501 T.H.R.U.S.T. will not be at the St. Louis regional to defend our title :(
We really enjoyed the venue. It was very well ran.
We especially loved that the Jumbo screens showed the matches as they were being played. This allowed the pit crews to see their robots in competition.
Good luck to all teams.

Team 1208 has put together an unofficial guide to the St. Louis Regional. It seems that most teams attending the regional are from the St. Louis area, still some may fine it useful.

Is there a social at SLU again this year? I have not seen anything, but as a rookie team we may not be on all the lists out there!

Can't wait 'til next week - working on flag & signs & all the spirit stuff!

Re: 2015 Saint Louis Regional

Congratulations to 1986, 1658 & 4356 for winning the St. Louis regional! Also a huge congrats to finalists 2783, 1208 & 4154 for putting up one heck of a fight. If not for a very strategically placed piece of litter, I think they could have taken Finals match 2 and the regional. Litter defense is real!

I wanted to say thank you to 3284 and 5326 for working so well with us and helping us advance to the semi-finals. This is the farthest 4329 has ever advanced and the whole team was absolutely ecstatic.

We were again incredibly honored to receive the engineering inspiration award. There are so many great teams in the St. Louis area who are equally deserving.

We realized that since we had already qualified for champs via our Arkansas Regional EI, I believe we created a wild card spot. Since 2783 won Chairman's Award and was the captain of the finalist alliance, I believe this means that 1208 will receive a wild card spot for champs. They have a great robot and drive team this year and I hope to see them attend!

Lastly, thanks to all the volunteers who make the St. Louis regional possible. There are a lot of great people working behind the scenes to make everything go as smoothly as it did.

We hope to keep adding more functionality to our robot for champs. Becoming a part of #TeamTether doubled our tote stacking capability and we're hoping to add a step can grabber for worlds so we can compliment any alliance. If anyone is interested, we recorded most of our matches with a GoPro and those videos can be seen here: Link

Team 5492 had an amazing experience at the St. Louis Regional and we'd like to thank all of the volunteers, referees, and judges for making this the best first regional experience a rookie team could have! Congrats to 1986, 1658, and 4356 on taking the regional, your alliance was amazing and it was a hard fought and deserving victory. I especially would like to congratulate 2783 on their first regional Chairman's award! They have been around helping our team get off the ground and I'm excited to see them make it to worlds to share Kentucky FIRST with the rest of our community. I hope we get a chance to come back in the future and try to help make this regional as special for other teams as everyone in St. Louis did for us!

Also I'd like to give a special shout out to 4931 and 1444 for lending us some parts when we needed them. I know that sort of thing is what FIRST is all about, but they didn't hesitate to help us out when we need it the most and for that our team is very grateful.

Just incredible. A stark contrast to our 1st match where we put up all of 4 points together :ahh: Glad to see you guys really get it going, you clearly nailed the human loading aspect of this year's game. Good luck at champs!

Thanks to 1094 for taking the time to capture & upload all of these matches. I constantly find myself going back and watching your uploaded videos!

Re: 2015 Saint Louis Regional

Thank you St. Louis for hosting a fantastic regional. The venue, volunteers, and level of competition were all outstanding. Special thanks to 4329 for providing the webcast. Our supporters back home really appreciate the ability to keep up with the team. (By the way, 2 EI's in the same year is a most impressive feat. Well done.)

1658, you absolutely lived up to your release video. You were a great team to work with, and built the most impressive offensive juggernaut at the tournament. It was also fun to reunite with 4356 (regional champs in 2012) and see the progress your team has made. I've got a hunch that the unused pneumatic system on your robot just might find a purpose by the World Championship.

It seems like we keep seeing 1208 in elimination matches year after year. Always a contender, and a fitting recipient of the wild card berth to Champs. Congratulations to 2783 on the Chairman's award. Really enjoyed watching your video at the end of the tournament.

4256, you are absolutely one of our favorite teams to work with. We had a blast setting the regional high score (204 pts) together. I wish we could have seen the 4 can stealer you were cheesecakeing on your alliance partner in action.

Team Titanium (FRC 1986) had an 8 regional win streak coming into this season. After being finalists in Arkansas earlier this season that streak is over. Hopefully this is the start of a new one. Either way we are thankful to be representing the state of Missouri at the World Championships once again. This is an opportunity that we are very familiar with, but trust me when I say we don't take it for granted.
