AM14u2 Drive Train Unstable
Greetings,
We are currently experiencing issues with our AM14u2 Drive Train, concerning the center whee,l which has proven unstable; an eighth of an inch lower than the other wheels. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Thank you! |
Re: AM14u2 Drive Train Unstable
Yes, this is normal.
The center wheel is lower than the outer wheels on most 6-wheel drive set-ups to allow for easier turning. See this whitepaper for why this is. P.S. Welcome to Chief Delphi! |

Hi there,
The center wheels are dropped .140" by design to allow the chassis to turn. It reduces turning scrub of the chassis overall by reducing the effective wheelbase. -Nick |

Basically, by having a dropped center wheel, you get the stability benefits of a long wheelbase, with the ability to turn of a wide wheelbase. The 1/8" of "rock" shouldn't interfere with your ability to play the game at all. If your mechanisms require that much precision, you weren't going to be very good anyway... |
