USB camera connected directly to drive station computer

We've been testing our new USB camera and have been trying to get the image on the LabVIEW dashboard when it is connected directly by USB to the computer (not through the roboRIO).

We poked around in the code, and it seems the only option which accepts a camera directly connected to the drive station only works with ethernet cameras.

Any ideas?

To answer my own question, I got this code to work:

However, the description of the Laptop Read VI says it is intended for testing, examples and demos. Would there be any problem using this VI during a match?

If you want to view the image from a camera connected to the Driver Station computer, I don't see anything wrong with using Laptop Read to do it.

Are you planning a "periscope" system?

We are considering it, yes.
