Most Efficient Big Ball Getter??? Team 384

Student on team #384, Tucker TIgers, from JR TUCKER HIGH and Infineon/Invensys/SHowbest Fixtures/ Nasa Langley .

Hello everyone..
this is my first post on chief delphi after spending about 3 weeks checking the forums. First of all.. i want to thank everyone for keeping the forum alive.. it has helped me out alot for a cure to my at home bordem blues.

Any ways.. I am on team 384... we were the #1 seed and runners up at the VCU regional. Our robot has to be one of the most efficient out there (no rant intended). In all of our 6 matches plus 3 of our four finals (one of the robots got stuck i believe).. our robot got the big ball on the top of the goal and was in the the end zone within 20 seconds.. I was just wondering if anyone else could do this as quickly?

Thanks alot...

and yes.. 20 seconds everytime.

Are you talking over the bridge or under the pipe?

cool... what process do u guys use to get to your balls?.. pick em up???

i think our sucess is our turntable and our speed..

Our arm can rotate multiples of 360 degress clockwise or counterclockwise.. and our arm can go abou 270 degrees on the y axis i think.... or is it z... oh well

Our arm can't rotate but its pretty quick moving up and down. We can do it fast because we use a roller, and it gives a very soft touch. I'll look for you guys at the national.

I am a member of Metal-In-Motion Team 343 and from what I see, Team 384 and 312 both are efficient and consistent in play. At KSC, 312 was able to pick up the big ball nearly everytime while also using the "grabbers" to place a goal on the bridge for us. At VCU, 384 also demonstrated big ball handling by get the big balls nearly everytime as well. So both of ya'll are efficient and we look forward to seeing ya'll at Nationals. Peace!

Didn't want to forget the Brazilian Machine. These guys were allied with us in the finals at VCU and could retrieve the big balls everytime with minimal problems. They also were bridge togglers as well. Peace!

Team 190 does bigballs :):)

Team 190 can proudly do the same.. our main focus throughout UTC and LongIsland was big ball scoring, and at LongIsland added to that was the ability to be a wedge and score a bigball SIMULTANEOUSLY... this allows for stratgies like the one we saw win UTC and we used to win LongIsland (i.e. robot grabs far goal with near is being filled.. drives to near, grabs that, then balances)... and we look to continue with our big ball loading..

And we haven't had the need to yet, but we can load the far goal on the balanced bridge WITHOUT having to cross the fence :):)

Our robot has a wedge ability and is able to load while wedging.. but we havent had the need to do it yet... well.. maybe we havent had the oportunity..Since our arm can rotate 360.. we can load the balls on easy..(just got to grap the ball a bit lower than usual)

Check out our website to see our robot..

same note, team 190 can cross the bridge, reset it, grab a big ball, place it on top, and be in the end zone in about 20-23 secs......

Team #311 can get the large ball up on top of the goal quickly and then shoot to the end zone or wedge the bridge for a partner to balance or balance ourselves if need be.

Or now we can pneumatically toggle the bridge either direction for that matter.

pick up and place the large ball and hit the endzone in 25 seconds.

Repeatable and reliable......RedJammers

We too can place a large ball on the goal and get in the endzone in 20 sec, and we do this without using the bridge. We also have wedge capabilities. In the finals in Grand rapids we put two up and were in the endzone in under 35 sec.

For all of you who saw us drop the second ball in the first round of semifinals, we did so because we had put a very low priority on the second ball and our drivers were trying to put it up without getting in the way of the TechnoKats.

From what we have seen, 85 and 177 are also excellent limbo-cranes.
