I had a similar event--forget which event I was reffing at--on a practice day. Except the HP ran around him outside the box and the media person was from his team.

First I called a foul (it's practice, so it gives everybody a clue that this ain't good but doesn't hurt anybody). Then, after the match, I told the media dude in no uncertain terms to stay out of the box, and told the HP that if someone was where they shouldn't be, myself included, run 'em over. Had no further issues.

Ok so just for clarification, does the rule of allowing only 2 team members on the field at a time before a match still stand? I question it due to the need for re-assembly of most of our robots this year due to the transport configuration.

This has been a thing? I don't recall this ever being a rule (and can't find such a rule in the 2015 manual). Usually we only have two at one time on the field, but we have gone to three or four if match start is somehow delayed and we needed to refill pneumatics (our system was kind of leaky last year).

Well it's recommended you use two people to carry the robot onto the field so I don't see why not.

It's not a rule. If someone tells you it is kindly ask them to point to a rule.

That being said, make sure your driver station is set up and your cart is where it should be before the other drive team members help with robot assembly on the field.

We've had our whole drive team on the field before, and i typically do some alignment myself for auto.

So i would go ahead and say have as many people as you want out there, just don't take a super long time(delay of game)

...nor create an obstruction hazard on the field.
There will be a fairly large field reset crew on the field, plus 3 robots of potentially unusual size and some floor unevenness around the scoring platforms.
Please be considerate of everyone around you on the field.

If they aren't wearing drive team badges, they usually won't get past queuing. Just sayin'.

Thanks for clarifying-- the only reason I asked is because I got yelled at by one of my teammates because "you could get a foul for having 3 people on the field," but like some of you said, I've never seen a rule for that, so I guess she was just being bossy (I was a freshman at the time, and she was a senior)
