Team Shirts

Hello CD world,

I am new to the mentoring world this year but have been on team 1188 and 3548 for the previous 4 years as a student. I was in charge of the shirts for my team this year and I just wondered where other teams get your shirts from. Our team uniform consists of a t-shirt and a polo. We currently use custom ink and as our team grows it is getting increasingly expensive.

Try looking for a local business rather than online. For us it works out very well.

Every year someone inevitably posts this thread and I will always, always, always push you towards RushOrderTees.com - they saved 1923 during a very rough year one season. 8 seasons later, we still use them for everything - the full team's shirts, hoodies, trading shirts - and shirts for all our hosted events. They're amazing. PM me if you'd like a personal contact - 'our guy' can hook you up. :)

What we do is we found a local business to sponsor us. Ms.Taylor, who owns the business, is now a regular nemo and that's how we get our shirts for a fairly low price.

You might not be so lucky.

It's a bit of a hike, but I had good luck with A Frame Awards up in Flint.

We have been using these guys for a few years now. Looks like they are about 45 minutes from Royal Oak.

This. I've used them since 2011 for shirts for 2815, 4901, our FLL teams, SCRIW, and the year we hosted the FTC state tournament. On time, upfront pricing, solid crew.

We were lucky enough to get a tshirt printing machine last year so we design and print our own shirts for our FRC and 4 VEX teams. It saves us alot of money.

In the past, we have used vistaprint. This year, one of our team members got a tshirt printing machine as well, so we will be making them ourselves.

Re: Team Shirts

I would encourage you to try and find a local business who you could work with to get at least some sort of discount on shirts. Our students have to pay a certain amount with their dues to get shirts, but when we get special shirts (like last year for Worlds for example) we have a mentor who works with a local business to make things easier for us. Hope this helps!

Make your own. We built a screen printer and print ours and the FLL team as well. Really good exercise for students.

We make our own shirts, we buy blanks from cheapesttees.com then we screen print them in our lab.

Same here. Be prepared to shop around a bit, though. The first two local businesses we tried did not work out so well for us. The first didn't seem to actually want any business (later found out that my church had the same experience with the same vendor), and the second messed up the printing so badly that we refused shipment. Third time seems to be the charm.
