As the driver for team 4183, I would like to recognize and thank a large list of people:

First out alliance partners, team 3944 was a perfect complement to our robot stacking stacks of 6 totes with a bin and noodle in them. Team 4146 was the best 2nd pick I could have hoped for, they did exactly what they said they would, and put down stacks of 4 totes making quick capping of stacks very easy.

I feel a shout out to all of our scouts and data analysis people for making that perfect alliance happen is necessary.

I would like to also thank everyone at Arizona for making this the best regional I have attended, cheering for everyone, having nice teams, and good sportsmanship from every team I encountered (it was a little limited saying as I spent all my time driving or having fun with my team).

And I would like to give a special thanks to my uncle Jim Forbes (MrForbes on CD) for suggesting that we spend all our our time practicing getting bins and capping stacks because in the end, that was the only way we could beat an amazing alliance like 1538, 60, and 4496.

The archived live stream can be downloaded here.
Camera 1 is the conventional video feed with the score overaly.
Camera 2 is the HD full field camera (started streaming from Friday afternoon on).
Each day is split up into 2 or more chunks just depending on when the software program had to be restarted.
The link will remain active for a few months.
Let me know if you run into any problems downloading the footage.

Will someone be uploading this to the Blue Alliance?

My message had meant the exact opposite, actually, though with the "6>4" bit, I was referring to 3944's stacking of 6 totes. At the end of the second and final match, if I recall correctly, there were approximately equal amounts of stacks on each side, but the two 6-tote stacks from 3944 resulted in a win over the other alliance's usage of only 4-tote stacks.

As for 4183, there was some very solid 4-tote stacking that was absolutely important to the victory.

For 1212:

Goodness , you people are closer to the East Regional site than we are. Is there some kind of strategy related to the AZ State Championships going on?

Background: top 30 robots from the AZ Regionals go to the State Championship. The kicker is, you're scored on only your first Regional effort. I don't know the formula.

(hoping we did good enough last weekend :)

Your scored on the first regional you compete in. Meaning your average points on that regional and coop with that regional. So trying your best would help the most.

While watching the Vegas webcast this morning I took some time to compile a spreadsheet to estimate the rankings for the Arizona State Championship. These are not the official rankings but are a close estimate based on the published criteria, once you get to the 3rd tiebreaker and beyond it won't match up since I didn't build the sheet to handle that data. Since the teams submitting for Chairman's award are not published I have estimated based on teams posting about it in this thread. Auto-bids for winning Chairman's are highlighted in green. Let me know if you see any mistakes as all the data is copy paste or manual entry.

There are still 14 teams left competing for the first time this season (two in Vegas this weekend, 12 in AZ West next weekend).

With the current rankings the cutoff to qualify is 12 points, which means you automatically qualified if your team submitted for Chairman's at any event. That will change in the next two weeks but with the amount of teams competing for a second time at West who seeded well at earlier events I expect them to occupy most of the top spots there, resulting in a final cutoff point that will likely be at or below 20 points.

I really hope 4183 submitted for Chairman's somewhere this season, after doing so well at AZ East I would hate to see them miss the State Championship because of a rough first event. The sooner Arizona goes to Districts the better, I would really like to see teams with massive improvements from the first to second event still qualify for the State/District Championship by being able to count both events.

We submitted for Chairman's at both our events but did not win. Does that mean we qualify? [Edit: never mind. I read your post.]

I'm also looking forward to districts, although I'll probably graduate by the time they come to Arizona.

Nope. We actually just didn't sign up in time before East filled up. I don't think we even talked about going to the state championship until a couple days ago. It's wound up going in our favor though, we have a very ambitious robot for this year and the extra time has helped work out some kinks in the design.

Good Luck!

With more teams playing their second regional, the scores till be higher.
