2015 Utah Regional

Should be a great event with teams representing Alberta, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Looking forward to seeing all teams on the field in 4 weeks...

Team 2594 is excited to compete with so many great teams at this event! After squeezing in a little more drive practice tonight, we'll be on our way in the morning :)

We're packing up the trailer tonight so we can leave right after school ends tomorrow. It should be a lot of fun, the same as it was last year!

I'm looking forward to seeing how my team shakes out in qualifications this year. We know what we can do in practice, but we don't have a lot of information on the other teams and how well practice translates to competition in this game.

You had a great bot last year! I expect the same from 1619 this year....

We are super excited. Utah will have excellent teams playing and will be a great test for all of us.

I just wish Tators, CocoNuts and Up A Creek would have posted some pics or videos so we could see what we are up against...

Though LiveWire's robot won't be there, be on the lookout for an appearance of OneByte!

Should be a fun regional to watch, good luck and we can't wait to see what all the teams have in store!

Which is too bad. Congratulations on your win at Inland Empire!

Re: 2015 Utah Regional

624 wanted to thank everyone for the great experience we had at Utah. Being on spring break, it was nice to be able to enjoy the regional. I can't speak enough about how on point the referees were, and the queuers and other volunteers were very good at keeping the event running smoothly.

We would like to thank our alliance partners 1619, Up-A-Creek Robotics, and 4334 the Alberta Tech Alliance for the great run we had through the playoffs. 178 average and almost reaching the world record by one fallen can was quite exciting. We wouldn't mind playing with either of these teams any day, and are especially appreciative of 4334 working with us to install the can grabber - the mechanism they had to right the totes was just perfect for the system. I heard afterwards that 1619 has not won a blue banner/been to CMP (one of the two, I believe?), and were absolutely blown away. This team builds stellar robots and is going to surprise a lot of people in St. Louis. We would also like to congratulate Team Tators, PrototypeX, and the Eaglebots for a great competition in the finals - We'll see 2122 in STL as well (we never thought we would ever be the source of a wildcard...), absolutely phenomenal machine, and the team is very friendly.

Congratulations to 2486 the CocoNuts on their Regional Chairman's Win! Very well deserved!

EDIT: 5 of the top 25 averages in the world as of week 3 from Utah? Not bad :)

Congrats to the 624, 1619, 4334 Alliance. Looking forward to seeing you in St. Louis. You earned your victory with a terrific alliance. There were a lot of nicely performing robots this year. Stacks abounded in Utah. Eliminations were hard fought with alliances whose scores would have advanced them to finals at some other regionals. Special thanks from the Tators to 3230 Prototype X and 3405 Eagle Bots whose efforts helped us get to wildcard status. Also thanks to 2486 Coconuts and 4550 Somethin's Bruin for helping us advance in Qualies even though we were busy in the pit chasing electrons like the Wile E Coyote chasing the Roadrunner. Great competition in Utah.

Well the Tator Trailer made it back to the spud shed after a fun-filled weekend in SLC! Thank you to the volunteers, organizers & judges for another amazing event! It was a special treat getting to meet Dean Kamen and having him autograph our robot.

Congrats to 624, 1619 and 4334 for a well-deserved win! 624, your robot's performance is matched only by the friendliness and drive of your students and mentors. 1619, your robot's abilities were incredible (love the claw) and your victory long overdue. To 4334, thanks for taking the time to visit and discuss your robot's performance attributes long after all other teams had left the building. I hope the Tators get an opportunity to share the same field at Champs with at least one of you!

Good luck in your remaining events and see you in St. Louis...

To our partner, 3230, thank you for your hard-fought efforts and we will see you in Phoenix. To 3405, without your hard work throughout the weekend and your successful modifications to your robot we would not have made it to the final round.:)
