Maximum Input Frequency

I am looking to get a new quadrature encoder to work for our shafts which spin around 5k rpm or so. I need to know the ppr to order. In order to do that I need to know the maximum input frequency of the robo rio.

Thanks in advance,
Bryant

actually I need it of the tallon srx because that is want is decoding the signal

Checkout the electrical specs in Talon SRX User's Guide. Based on your RPM, you should be able to calc the max CPR (not PPR).

I think you'll find though that there is no practical limitation on what encoder you can choose.

The SRX decodes the quadrature encoders in hardware.

Max RPM is 80million/CPR (CPR=Cycles Per Rev).
