It's been said already, but that is one magnificent claw. It really grabs your attention.
Anyway, good luck this week.
I'm really excited to see y'all at the Bayou Regional!

That claw though. Wow. Amazing. Beats even 118's IMO. I was planning on making something like that in the offseason actually.
And that use of mecanum wheels to lift the can up!
Do you have plans to add an active intake for your grabber arms? It could help a lot.

I understand this has already been mentioned a million times, but I love the mecanum claw. The rest of the robot is also well designed and built.

We have something designed if we need it/have weight for it. We are waiting to see how it performs in it's current state at South Florida before we change anything.

What's the highest stack you guys can top with an RC?
I feel like even suggesting the afore-mentioned mechanism would only annoy me more.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't actually count the number of totes at 1:40

My favorite claw so far this year! I always look forward to your robots, this one knocks it out of the park.

Did we miscount or does the claw have 7 actuations, counting it's lift?

Also how much of the up and down motion of the RC is from the mecanum wheels and how much is from the rear wheel?

Very cool robot, I'm looking forward to inspecting this thing at Bayou.

Anyone else notice the mecanums on the claw? That was pretty cool.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you either really over engineered that Go-Pro mount, or you've got an RC grabber in the works

Great robot guys, you all did a fantastic job with each game aspect.

It really takes all 3 wheels to get the motion shown, the original design had omni-wheels in the front and a traction wheel in the back and was not very effective. After last year using mecanums on our intake (borrowed from 1986) the student designer decided to try the mecanums wheels and it worked way better than we could have hoped for. There were quite a few iterations made to bring everything together.

The claw itself has 2 pistons, and 3 motors for the mecanums and rear strafe wheel. The claw is mounted on a pan-tilt mechanism for picking up cans from there left or right sides, as well as the pan action for topping our own stacks and better CG while driving without any totes.
