Error 44036 PWM Not Allocated

Hi, I'm one of the coders of team 1124. I was having some problems opening talons. In begin, I use an open two motor vi but only one of the motors actually initializes while the other keeps on blinking. I'm not sure if it's a code problem or a mechanical problem, but the head coder tells me it's mechanical/electrical while the president tells me the electrical is fine. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and how can I fix it?

Verify that the Talon has a unique CAN ID (via WebDash) and that the ID is only referenced once in Begin.

If you are seeing "Error 44036 PWM Not Allocated" in the DS then it's likely software. Are you using Talon SR or Talon SRX (CANBus or PWM)?

I assume PWM but I think the DS error for CAN in Labview might also say "...PWM not allocated..." so I wanted to check.

Double check how you are motor-open-ing in Begin. Are the string refs right everywhere?

Re: Error 44036 PWM Not Allocated

I'm using 2 Talon SRs. One of them initializes while the other does not, but I use an open two motor vi for both of their PWM channels. And I double checked and I did make a mistake with one of the refnum names, but that doesn't explain why only one motor initialized out of the two motors. One talon continues blinking even when I enable the bot, while the other goes solid.

Re: Error 44036 PWM Not Allocated

A simple sanity test is to swap the PWM cable ends between the two Talons SRs to see if the working Talon follows the roboRIO PWM output.
Then swap the roboRIO ends of the cables.

The error message is pretty specific. It strongly suggests that you are trying to use the same PWM channel for two different things. If you attach your code here, we can probably find the problem.
