Our team is currently looking for more sponsors as we do not have a lot of money left. We were wondering what are some good places to get sponsors?

Talk to your city's chamber of commerce. They can put you in touch with right companies to talk and the right people to talk to. Sometimes, you might get a check from the chamber too.

I can have the 3476 mentor, who just presented to one, chime in. She and the students knock it out of the park the other day.

Our team got our first sponsors this year. I googled companies in our area and called our emailed the higher ups. It worked but I dont know if I recommend it.

Any business with a framed picture of a youth baseball league on the wall wants to be a prospective sponsor.

Take pictures of plaques at public places which depend on donations. Museums and colleges are great places to look. The companies on the plaques have donated before, and will donate again.

That is a brilliant idea.


In terms of other advice, have you ever seen the sponsor list for 359, the Hawaiian Kids? It may just be a Hawaii thing, but they clearly show that the shotgun method of asking everyone and their brother for a sponsorship and just see what you get back seems to work well.

Holy wow. Now that's a sponsor last if Ive ever seen one.

They bought a couple hundred thousand dollar waterjet a few years back. There's a thread on here about it.
They had it shipped to Hawaii by boat. I would want advice on getting sponsors from them! :P

Approach the employers of your students' parents.

Your team members parents employers are a big one as said above, as well as get in touch with your local mayor or economic developer. Lots of companies look for ways to give back to the community and often the economic developer knows which companies to try.

We recently spoke with our mayor and economic developer, which is also great for chairmans. She was able to put us in contact with a company moving back to our town. The founder graduated from our high school and went on to do great things in the field of semiconductors using cubic zirconium. He came and visited, it was a great experience. As well as a great way to get exposed and involved in our local community.
