Re: #Team20PointAuton

Just downloaded Ed Law's awesome 2015 OPR After Week Three Events Great stuff.

One of the things I do every week is add columns to normalize all the point data for number of matches played and then put in columns that show PercentRank.Inc() of these values. Very insightful data set.

Anyway, looking at Normalized Auton Points you can pretty much see who has a reliable 20 point Auton (or at least who had won at there first competition and hasn't screwed it up in the mean time).

FWIW, here are the top 40 teams ranked by Auton Points Per Match:

Team# AvgAutonPerMatch
  1. 1519 18.08
  2. 2512 17.78
  3. 1678 16.80
  4. 254 16.40
  5. 1730 16.00
  6. 624 15.40
  7. 2056 14.60
  8. 987 14.00
  9. 1114 12.60
  10. 2337 12.67
  11. 4003 10.33
  12. 236 10.00
  13. 2383 10.30
  14. 1310 9.40
  15. 70 8.83
  16. 2481 8.00
  17. 948 8.33
  18. 2054 7.67
  19. 319 7.83
  20. 330 7.11
  21. 225 6.67
  22. 67 5.67
  23. 118 6.00
  24. 1322 6.00
  25. 3350 6.00
  26. 2848 6.00
  27. 3132 5.50
  28. 2423 5.33
  29. 1507 5.11
  30. 854 4.80
  31. 5282 4.67
  32. 5759 4.80
  33. 5134 4.80
  34. 4643 4.80
  35. 256 4.80
  36. 3360 4.60
  37. 3282 4.40
  38. 5454 4.40
  39. 3355 4.40
  40. 894 4.33

For what it is worth, I think 1519 is probably a lot better than 9 out of 10 at hitting it these days. I've seen them at two districts now. The majority of their misses were early on at there Week 1 Event. If you get a chance, check out their robot. Simple and functional. Drivers with ice in their veins. Oh... ...and a killer 20 point auton.

FWIW.

Cheers,
Dr. Joe J.

As I joked with Mike, it had the cans before the announcer had finished saying "Rush!" (or "Go").

I was very impressed with 4003's auton this weekend. I believe they went 100% for all of their attempts. A few matches in eliminations they opted to let 2054 do theirs.

Here is a video from our week 4 performance at the Central Illinois Regional. CIR Finals 1
We struggled during practice after some upgrades to get it dialed in again but the students got it working just in time for our first qualification match. From Fri-Sat I think we only missed it once due to a dropped container.

A few of 319's runs at the UNH District this weekend.

2342 also joined the club at UNH this past weekend with strong consistency, as I hear.

Team 2607 is a late addition to the club with their 20 point auto at the MAR District Upper Darby Event.

329 was very impressive. I watched them during practice figure it all out and by the end it was working flawlessly. Although it did knock all the cans over. Shouldn't be an issue at cmp tho as most teams have figured out to pick up sideways bins or have mechanisms to make then go right side up.

329 is excited to have joined the 20 point auto club this week at SBPLI. After unveiling our can burglar last week at Waterloo we decided to try this out. We were able to hit 8 of 9 in Quals (the one was only counted as a 6 point due to contact) and 5/5 in playoffs. It looks chaotic but has proven itself tremendously reliable. I'll post a link when we get our videos together. So proud of the team for putting it together!

Congratz guys really impressed with you guys today it's too bad you didn't progress to finals but I still think your robot was one of the best out there.

1100 had a 20 point auto dialed in by the end of RIDE, which played a large role in their victory from the 5th alliance.

Wave 2826 does a great job with their 20pt auto. I don't think their cans end inside the zone, but they are huge for their teleop strategy. It took them until just before elims to dial it in at WI, but its pretty consistent now.
