FRC 2869's First Chairmans Video

Hello I am proud to present The Regal Eagle Robotics Team's first chairmans award video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqJu...ature=youtu.be (note if your watching this within 15 minutes of me posting this thread then the quality wont be final yet)

Feedback is welcome as this is the first time I have done a chairmans video and I am only a sophomore so I have 2 more of these to make

Also I have not even revealed this to my team so you guys are the first (Pun intended) to see it

next year we need to be more involved in the community and we also need to be more involved in other first programs but I am happy with what we did this year and I think its a good start.

Nicely done! Some constructive feedback...
-The music is way louder than the people talking. I had to lean into my computer to hear them.
-A lot of the video doesn't deal with Chairman's stuff (some of it almost felt more like a robot reveal). It's not a problem per se, but you could use that time to describe your outreach.
-Some of the shots (especially at the start) are pretty shaky.
-Most of your outreach is described via voice-over, without any visuals. (Could be because no one remembered to take any pictures - no worries, just do it next year!)

You're off to a great start, and the production quality on your video is fantastic (especially for a first-year submitter). Congrats on submitting, and best of luck this year!

To start I'm aware I need to adjust sound levels. It sounded fine with my headphones but I'm running studio headphones off an amp so it can be deceiving. I realized how bad it was when I played the video on my TV. Basically I'll adjust the levels and reupload it soon but our regional isn't for a few weeks anyway.
As for the beginning shots I actually wanted the rough shakey look. Next year I'm going to get similar shots with my drone (didn't have time to get written permission from the superintendent).

Also yes we need to get more video of outreach. The issue is bringing my equipment to school being it's my personal equipment. It's not like I use a tiny camcorder. I'm running a d7000 rig with a prime lens follow focus and numerous pieces of sound equipment.
Maybe I should just leave a gopro at school or something.

Thanks for the feedback

To everyone else on CD, Im sorry for basically bumping this thread.
Um... What? I feel pain reading this. Then again I'm hungover from robots. You didn't have to be so rude; Jacob is a nice guy, however I'm never nice when it comes to video stuff, but I'm always fair. If you want to talk about anything I write below, message me cause I could talk for days and the CD portal doesn't need this kind of conversation at the top.

First off, that isn't how amps work. Your mix doesn't magically get altered only just your "master" level does.

Second , please credit the artist. You wouldn't like it if someone just stole your footage would you? Also you should aim to use music that is free-use, there is tons out there and at least one track can fit your needs.

Huh, you still have a few weeks. Get the shot. But before that you might want to get your FAA certification.

Hmmm, no. You didn't use a follow focus because those weren't pulls. Don't say you overshot, because I know when a camera uses contrast detection.

For chairmans you want to be Fincher. Fincher is my god.

There could be more to say, but its not worth it.
Good night

Well to start didn't know I was being rude and didn't mean to be.

1.i didn't say I used my. Follow focus I simply stated it was on my rig

2.i have a Monstercat license therefore I have royalty free right to use their music without credit.

3.im aware that it didn't change amp levels it just my music was so loud everything sounded fine.

4.i still don't have time to get drone shots

5.i like my shakey shoulder cam shots I like the indy run and gun style they bring and that's just my personal opinion.

Thanks for the feedback.
