Panthrobotics Impact (Chairmans) Video`
After a lot of hard work, our team is proud to present our 2015 Impact Video. We not only use this towards the Chairmans award but also within our school system and community. Comments appreciated! :-)

I really like how you show the team "growing up" both in the video, and in the stories. I wish you had included more about how your team affects the community as a whole...Looks like you have FLL and FTC going?
All in all really nice video. Edoga |

Beautiful and heartfelt. Everyone on 3337 should be proud of what you've managed to achieve and all the people you've been able to touch.
This video reminded me of the real reason to submit for Chairman's: to document all that your team's been able to do, to feel pride in your work, and to realize that there's always more to do. Wil Payne wrote this a while back, and it's stuck with me: Quote:

Great video. Hopefully it will pay off. Ya'll deserve a Chairman's Award! Can't wait to see everyone in a couple of weeks.

I wanted to respond a little bit. We generally feel that the awards video is less about what we've done than how we've been impacted. While the essay, presentation, and executive summary are all about our outreach efforts and the like, our video is used as an impact statement and a way to let the students tell everyone why FIRST is as important as it is. I would love to send you our essay if you are interested. What you caught on the video was two of our events. Our Red Stick Rumble is an off-season event that brings in 23 FRC, 15 FTC, and 10 FLL teams to both compete and engage in a fast-start. We also hosted the first official FRC Kickoff in the state at LSU this year. This is added to the first FTC qualifier that helped motivate over 25 teams to launch an FTC program within two months. I could go on - but time and again what amazes me about my team is not about the stuff that we do but about the hearts that we touch. Our primary goal is family. . . especially because many of my kids don't have the best families. Most are looking for a father, brother, mother, or sister to fill that gap in their life. I think that is often one thing that Chairman's bypasses. Our most recent awesome event? We managed to get two teams line dancing with us at a restaurant after the Arkansas Regional . . . not to call out anyone in particular but Bomb Squad definitely has some rhythm. Lastly, thank you to all of the kind words from the rest of you. I won't lie and say that winning a Chairman's Award one day isn't one of my top bucket list goals, but until we find that magic though, I will enjoy our own reward - my family. My Panthrobotics. |
Re: Panthrobotics Impact (Chairmans) Video`
Just wanted to provide some feedback. I've been working on chairman's for years so I wanted to share some knowledge.
1. The video you guys produced is awesome. Love the motivational speaking and the images and videos throughout. 2. For the future, work on some of the audio, sometimes things didn't match up. 3. I love all the inspirational stories, but spend more time talking about what your team does for STEM and FIRST. Not just about how FIRST affected your own personal members, but the community as a whole. But again, awesome video and good luck!! |
