Sacramento 2015

2073 is looking forward to this years tournament. There are some fantastic teams showing up this year, many caring a Blue Banner for 2015 with them.

Gonna be great!

Who's ready to make week 4 the week to remember?

It's going to be a fun regional! And with 118 coming all the way from Texas, the level of competition on the playing field has increased. I expect great performances from 1678, 118, 971, 1671, 2085, 701, and 100 but there are plenty of other teams on the field that are going to make all the difference.

Also, somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm counting 3 potential wildcards at this event (3250, 118, 1678).

Re: Sacramento 2015

Honestly this is probably the most excited I have been for Sacramento in a while.

Usually it is 1678 on top with 971 close by and once these two teams combine it is pretty much expected to see them in the final rounds. 1678 put on a great show at CVR I am wondering what improvements they have made for Sacramento. And usually 1671 (who also had a decent show at CVR, probably third best there IMHO) is a finalist by the end and loses to the 1678, 971 alliance. But this year with 118 going you are going to have 4 really amazing robots there that will probably partner up with each other to form two very strong alliances, the only question is which ones will partner up (I am guessing 1678 and 118, while 971 and 1671)?

And 3250 had a very strong performance at Inland. They will be a team to watch too. Their drive team, students, and coaches are all top notch and a great team to talk to. They are what FIRST is all about.

I believe 701 will be carrying one as well. They were the #2 Alliance Captain at CVR and got their ticket punched by the Hall of Fame team 254, when they won CVR.

4543 was the 6th seed Captain and finished in 3rd overall for CVR.

It is a great robot that went on a diet to add some additional features.:yikes:

See ya all tomorrow on the practice field.

100 can't wait! Competition looks stiff but we're excited nonetheless. Great to be back with NorCal teams again.

Anyone have thoughts one the new pit layout? Kinda weird, imo. They took volunteers for the teams on the upper level, as well as put rookies all around the main pits in between veteran teams. Kind of an interesting idea. Although, I'm not complaining because otherwise we would just pale in comparison to 118 right next to us. But it makes pit scouting a little more difficult and less systematic.

Anyway, looking forward to tomorrow! See you all there!

PS UC Davis is in the middle of their finals week so be nice to the students :P

As does 1671. Definitely some of the coolest robots this year, both of them.

Definitely. I'm glad I stopped by Davis as part of my vacation. I get to take videos and pictures of some of the coolest robots of the year.

I got a little sneak peek before sac, not gonna lie I was excited, one of the craziest and coolest designs I've ever seen, leave it to 971 to innovate crazy elevators on moving arms.
