2015 Offseason events

Is it too early to ask about 2015 FRC (or even FTC) offseason events? We're looking to attend some in OK/TX/AR/KS/MO region, and can probably go a little farther depending on the dates. Say, within 6-8 hours of Oklahoma City. Thanks!

It's definitely not too early! We have our date locked in for the Gateway Robotics Challenge hosted in Florissant, Missouri at Hazelwood Central High School (home of team 1985) - October 17th, 2015. Feel free to go to our website for more information and to register: http://www.gatewayroboticschallenge.com/

Thank you! That is one we'll pencil in the calendar. Looks like it is good timing with the rest of our events, and not too far away. We also saw a date for RoboReboot in Fort Worth, and have penciled in that one as well. Still looking for other possibilities, too.

We're putting together a plan to get a "one-event-per-year" FRC team out an doing a few more things, so I'm trying to gather data for an upcoming meeting to get team/school commitment for as many of these as possible.

We are planning on attending the half hollow Hills competition if it happens again. But we are deciding whether to do a second. Any good ones around long Island ny

There's also CowTown ThrowDown FRC offseason event, held by 1730 Team Driven in Lee's Summit. They haven't put up a date for this year yet, but if you message any of the members on Driven here, they can probably tell you a rough estimate.

Cowtown Throwdown should be Oct. 30/31. We will have information in the pit at Champs. We had posters up at Greater KC and Colorado regionals. We are looking forward to hosting again this year. Get signed up early, spots usually fill up fast with those in Missouri and Kansas.

Thanks - we are just looking for dates to put on our calendar at this point. Yours was already on our "short list". I just need to get a couple more people to commit and we'll get registered for it. We're still looking for other events, too, so we can do 2-4 total before next FRC season.

Since my team is currently filled with seniors who are going to graduate, does anyone have ideas to get more members involved? We host Girls' Generation competition in Washington but that hasn't involved as many girls as we thought. We also need to work on training students before build season, any ideas on how to go about this?

I wanted to let you know that Texas has 2 other events RoboRemix hosted by 1477 and Texas Robot Roundup hosted by 2158. They haven't released dates but last year TRR took place in late June/early August and Remix took place around September. Hope that helps some.

The Gitchi Gummi Get Together is being held again this year August 14-15. We plan on having lots of matches and fun activities throughout the event. By expanding to a two day event, we are trying to get more teams as well as the same amount of matches that we had last year. The link below has more information about the event.

Team 3844 and 3259 are hosting the 2nd annual Battle for the Bluegrass in Corbin, KY on October 31st. Cool area with a lot of things to do with the team before or after the event.

There is some video up on YouTube of all the matches at last years inaugural event.
