Drill Motors!

Coach on team #608, Prowling Panthers, from Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia Tech/NASA/UTC/Ford/Ike Murray.

Is there a team out there that has an extra drill motor that they would be willing to send to Atlanta? We blew ours during the Nats. We were able to borrow one during the competition but had to give it back. We have lots of presentations that are scheduled and coming up real soon so we need to get our hands on one. Thanks in advance.

Anne,

We have plenty. Do you just need the motor? If you need the transmission too, let me know.

You can obtain them from your local Bosch distributor.

By the way what was the failure mode? Did you break gears or transmission? or did you overheat the motor itself? I'm playing around with a new transmission idea and don't have a good way to evaluate the new design on the detail level, like gear tooth size. However looking at failures can give me a good idea of whether or not I'm on the right track.
