0.4 lbs ramp from team 4403
2 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone
We are ROULT Team 4403, from Torreon, Mexico, and have just ended 3rd seed in Hub city regional last weekend. We want to share with everyone going to champs or other regionals our (we believe) world's lightest ramp. Pictures: Attachment 18758 Attachment 18759 We designed a ramp with a very light weight due to the fact that our robot was almost on the limit. The material used in this ramp is 4 mm corrugated plastic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrugated_plastic), which can be found in any hardware or paper store. This material has a density of 1.6 lbs per squared meter. The total weight of the ramp is 0.4 pounds. The ramp is designed in a way that it can be easily assembled and is highly reliable. Below are the construction blueprints for the ramp, which can be downloaded for free. Once assembled, if you feel the assembly is somewhat loose, you can put duct tape on it just to be sure. Our ramp gave us the ability to make 2 stacks of 6 totes with a container on top. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDvk...utu.be&t=22150) Hope that this ramp can help teams make faster stacks... You are free to use this ramp, just please make us know so that we can see you on the stream of the CHampionship or any regional and see our design (we are not going to champs :( ) Blueprints: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4mtuvtmus...jLAXSFGYa?dl=0 Thanks for your attention and hope that it helps #teamcheesecake #teamtether PS. We used this tether (http://i00.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/5...ont-b-Wrap.jpg) and it has the properties of being lightweight and not wrapping around the drivetrain. |

Nice! We helped cheesecake another team's ramp at Waterloo, but it involved versaframe as well as currogated plastic. Your design would have been much quicker and lighter. Thanks for sharing!

Looks very impressive, I hadn't thought about using that material for the tether either. I'm sure lots of teams will benefit from this.

Youtube blocks the video in the USA. Something about UMG.
Nice ramp. One suggestion: Team Number facing the front. Technically, the Team Number must be easily visible from every angle. |
