I predict 3 alliances will reach the 219 point Hard Cap, while all but a couple alliances with weak captains or weak scouting will be able to hit the Soft Cap. |
Re: MAR Regional Champs
Robot sets are only 4 points.
The true "hard cap" with 3 RCs is 300 points. Quote:

Re: MAR Regional Champs
Unfortunately, 816 had to pass on our invite. So we will not be attending this year.

Re: MAR Regional Champs
I can tell already that Lehigh is going to be awesome! There are so many good teams going, many of which 1676 doesn't get to see during our district events. We're in for great competition both in robot matches and award interviews.
I'm interested in seeing how strategies will change once you have three solid feeder station robots on the field at once. We encountered this issue to some degree at BR, so I expect it to be more apparent at MAR. In the quals, some teams may have to switch gears and assume new positions. This might actually be beneficial, especially for teams trying to find their sweet spot for playoffs. On another note, I have some small and medium (mostly small) 1676 shirts that I'd like to trade. If you're interested, please PM me! |
Re: MAR Regional Champs
I was looking at the MAR Leaderboard vs. the Blue Alliance District Ranking. They are not totally sync'd. Obviously the MAR board would be right, but I was wondering what was up with the Blue Alliance. It appears they are still giving 2 quality points per win rather than using the ranking formula.

Re: MAR Regional Champs
After an initial glance it seems like team 5407 is a few spots out of place, causing a lot of teams to be off one spot. There may be more teams out of place further down in ranking.

Re: MAR Regional Champs
Look forward to seeing y'all at load-in tomorrow. We're looking to have a new bag of tricks up our sleeves; or at least a few feet away from them. (Who needs a driver for half of teleop anyway?) We've also found a few things more productive to do when there's a half a minute left on the clock and no totes left in the feeder station than have the can stabilizer applaud itself. Where there's weight, there's a way -- and where there's not, grab a holesaw!

Getting ready for load in?
Robots to check out?? 1218 and 2590 promised some surprises! I know 1640 has been working to increase their already scary output. 225 also promised increased output and a possible canburgling upgrade. Anyone else? |
Re: MAR Regional Champs
MOE is excited to be here at Lehigh! As mentioned by some previous posters, we do have the ability to grab 2 step cans in autonomous rather quickly. We ran this routine almost every auto at our first district, but moved to a double-shove routine during Upper Darby since many qualification matches did not need the extra cans. We enjoyed the step-can battle with 225 during elimination matches, although we knew our arms would not succeed since the referee had made us move back before we had time to reposition the arms. Maybe we'll have a rematch soon ;)
MOE has continued to work on improvements for our canburgler mechanism, tote stacking, and capping. Can't wait to see how the competition pans out! |
Re: MAR Regional Champs
I'm excited about Qual 18. I'm streaming, and can't watch everything, so are their any other matches to look forward to?

Re: MAR Regional Champs
Just FYI, team 4281 received an invite at 10:30 on Thursday. The lead mentor received it as a call from FIRST. The Center School has spring break this week so trying to contact even key team members was difficult. By noon when I was contacted I wasn't even in the area, but might have been able to make Stabler Arena by 3 o'clock when qualifications started.
Being in 67th place we didn't think we could qualify so we had already resigned ourselves that we wouldn't be going so most had gone on with their plans for the week. I can't help but notice that only 53 teams are there. Might have anyone with a ranking lower then ours wanted to go? I am wondering how it might have gone if teams that knew they were not going could have pre-declined? Each team notified had to have been given enough time to get resources, notify team members, etc. |
