2015 New York State District Rankings
Like I did last year, I went through and calculated district points for every team in the state of New York. Data was taken from The Blue Alliance App and verified by my own calculations. The only error I could find is that for some reason the lowest TBA gives any team at any event is 12 points, which in my opinion is negligible for what I'm doing. It just flattens out the lower end of the curve.
There are two different totals: Total Points and Total Points Adjusted. Total Points is the sum of the total district points for the first 2 regionals a team attended. If a team only attended 1 regional, they only have 1 regional's worth or points. The Total Points Adjust attempts to compensate for that. Teams that played 2 regionals total is the same, but teams that only did 1 have that score doubled to account for the fact that if New York actually had district events, every team would play at least twice.
By my count, 147 teams from New York competed this year. This puts us at a similar size to the Pacific Northwest District, meaning that a potential district championship would include something like 60 or 64 teams.
