What does CCWM mean?

Hi guys,

So I've been looking through some of the competitions on the FRC Spyder app, and while looking through the rankings, there's a category for CCWM. What does this stand for?

Thanks

CCWM stands for "calculates contribution to win margin". It's similar to OPR in the sense that it's supposed to be a calculation of your teams contribution to your alliance's winning point margin in a given match (where as OPR is just a calculation of points contributed to your total score). Because of the fact that there is no defense this year CCWM doesn't really mean anything with the exception of robbing a 5+ stack alliance of additional cans and pushing their score down or throwing litter to increase your winning margin/decrease your opponent's winning margin. Also CCWM as it currently is on FRC spyder is just OPR - DPR = CCWM.

2013 and 2014 had some pretty interesting numbers come out of this because of teams like 4814 who could block full court shooters. Despite not contributing many disc points to their alliances they ranked high and had a huge CCWM and DPR because of their ability to remove their opponent's scoring potential. Just goes to show how OPR and rank can be deceptive when looking at a teams ability to win matches.

FYI in FRC Spyder, if you go to the "Team Stats" tab within an event, there is a little question mark icon in the top left that will bring up a description of the acronyms.
