FIRST on Late Night with Seth Meyers

I had posted this in the SBPLI regional post but figured most folks would miss it. This aired a couple nights ago.

This is awesome. It shows that FIRST has come up a long way. It's important enough to be made fun of and that's excellent.

It was a little cringy especially the 5 x 3 response and the ordering hotdogs, but overall pretty funny.

I want to make a gif of him throwing a noodle and shouting "FIGHT ME!" though.

Awesome that it got some network television time. Unfortunately, like 90% of Myers material, it turned out super cringy. Wish it could've been written a tad better, but pretty great exposure nonetheless.

Props to the Long Island marketing crew.

That probably would have been slightly awkward to see the robot's "speech" at the event, since late night television humor tends to be more than a little bit different than what is common at FIRST events.

I did laugh when he tried to usher one of the robots to freedom, untethering it in the process.

glad they didnt include the part with me. I guess they realized how off color the joke really was.

Well, I suppose it's a good thing that they tried doing something about FIRST. Unfortunately it was neither funny nor informative about FIRST. Oh well...

"All publicity is good publicity."

Except when they don't let people know where to find more information.

I think the best part was the untethering as well xD SO funny!

Found a youtube video someone shot... Seriously, this was some sick writer/actor just making fun of us at our expense. They should be ashamed of themselves for the crap they did. I would be embarrassed if I were one of them.

DISCLAIMER: There are some bad words in the video for those with clean ears.

I felt bad for the actor in the robot suit. It seemed to me he knew his act wasn't going well but "the show must go on". The bright side is that the students showed more wit and poise than the professional actor and the professional writers.

I found it kinda funny. It shouldn't be all serious I found it was actually pretty entertaining.

ITT, people who don't know how late night shows or late night show interviews work.

Those of us who were there and witnessed it first-hand were annoyed to say the least. Yes, if it got FIRST some publicity then okay, but OUCH. It was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen pertaining to FIRST. Most people didn't BOO him as he wished because we knew it would only feed his desire for attention and he might stay there longer. He was like the grandfather at the dinner table who keeps passing gas and who everyone wishes would just leave and go to his room. In fact, the comedy was comparable to grandpa's flatulence.

Ouch, that hurt to watch. It was more awkward and ham-fisted than I had assumed.
