2014 Robot With a 2015 Driver Station
Hello. I'm trying to get our 2014 robot up and running.
So far, I reconfigured the D-link for private wireless use using the 2015 bridge configuration tool and am able to connect with the robot via wireless. Unfortunately, I have no communication or robot code. I've heard that the 2015 drive system has a feature in the setup tab that allows it to work with the 2014 CRio but I have also heard that it does not work... I've also been trying to restore the 2014 driver station to the PC hoping that would work, but every time I get close, I get redirected to either the 2015 or 2013 versions and the one time I found a link to the 2014 Update Suite, the page was taken offline. I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out in with any of these solutions or give me any new ideas on how to fix this. Thanks, Eric Moy |
Re: 2014 Robot With a 2015 Driver Station
There is indeed a selector on the Setup page for choosing between different protocol versions. It was tested during beta. It does not support Kinect or Cypress, but should work with an 8-slot cRIO or a 4-slot that hasn't been updated to 2015 SW. If you find out otherwise, please report the issue.

Re: 2014 Robot With a 2015 Driver Station
So it turns out that the 2015 Driver's Station only works with cRio's with the v57 image.
Also, I managed to find the 2014 NI software after searching the NI forums. Here are the links if anyone needs them: 2014 Update Suite: http://download.ni.com/support/softl...RC2014UpdateSu ite6.00.zip 2014 NI Software for FRC: http://download.ni.com/support/softl...NI_FRC2014.zip Once I re-installed the 2014 Driver's Station (which can coexist with the 2015 version), communications were excellent. |
