Some of 1777 (actually 1984+2335 but we're there as a part of 1777) is staying at a rental lodge (with a private lake) between Millstadt and Smithton (both IL).

The only downside is the 30min drive to the Dome each morning.

2375 just got dumped and are panicking! Drury Inn Union Station just called ridiculously and said they messed up and double booked themselves and cancelled our reservation. Looking for ideas. Please help if you can. We need 7 rooms.

The map has been updated, some teams are quite far away this year.

The most teams that aren't near city center seem to be centralized around the airport, probably because of hotel concentration/metrolink access.

Just in case anyone needed somewhere to stay, I have available space in my room at the Ramada next to the Edward Jones Dome.
I got a room at the Ramada when a another alumni from 987 was planning to go with me. He bailed and now I have the hotel bill. I'm willing to let one or two other people stay in the hotel room with me if they cover half the cost. The hotel room only has one bed but I'll willingly sleep on the floor. I've already payed for the room at 140 dollars a night, so you'd only have to cover 70 per night.

The only requirement is that you MUST NOT be a student on a team. Alumni, mentors, and volunteers are fine.

We're sharing a bus with 2992, SS Prometheus of Mandeville. They're staying across the street at the Best Western, #4 Regency Pkwy.

We're staying at the Holiday inn Express in Edwardsville, IL. It's quite a drive from the dome, but to keep trip cost down that's the only place we could afford to go.

Thanks for the map! It is interesting to see how far and wide the distribution of teams is. I wonder how representative a sample this is compared to the other 500+ teams that haven't seen this thread.

The X-Cats, Team 191, are staying at the Marriott St. Louis Airport. It is a half mile from a train station, but the walk looks as if it has no sidewalks.

Anyone else at this hotel?

Eric the hotel has airport shuttle service. You can use it to take people back and forth to the hotel.

There isn't? I haven't been able to go in previous years, but every year it has been against the Pirates, our "hometown" team. Very sad news :(

Even more curious is the annulus between about 3 and 13 miles (by road) from the venue where it appears that no one is staying. I suppose that once you stay far enough away to need a bus, you may as well go out in the 'burbs and get a better room rate.

I don't know the city at all, is it possible that there are simply no viable places to stay within that region?

In our case as we began looking at farther and farther venues we were encountering public transit times of an hour or more, so we decided to rent vehicles for transport. Once that decision was made we realized that allowing for 30 minutes of driving opens up a much larger region than looking for accommodations within the same timeframe reachable by public transit.

We initially looked at renting a 5000 square foot mansion on a riverfront. I am still a little disappointed that one didn't work out :P

At least on the east side, East St. Louis isn't a great neighborhood. I don't know enough about the west side but it might not be that cheap there (per your reasoning).

Yep, Drury Inn & Suites was able to "fix" their mistake, and got us into the Convention Center Location, which is across the street from the Dome. Even better than where we were before at Union Station!

Hope we have some teams in our hotel, and if not I know we will have lots of FIRST volunteer and peeps!

Glad I looked up information on this hotel. It's just reaffirmed my reason to NEVER stay at a Marriott. $9.95 A DAY for internet($14.95 a day for high speed internet)? Forget that!

The "Marriott Rewards" loyalty program is free to join, and members get Wi-Fi included with their hotel stay at no extra cost. (Similar programs are in place for most high-end hotels that still charge for internet access.)

Just throwing this out there. I know it's last minute, but if you're in need of a hotel for the event and are not a high-school student, I have a room at the Ramada right next to the America's Center.

Details:

• $113(+tax)/night (to be split evenly based on what nights are occupied by whom).
• Staying Wednesday through Sunday (though a partial stay could be arranged).
• Currently 2 female and 1 male(me), but I have no preference.
• All 3 of us are volunteers and are 25+. Do with that information what you will.
• Only requirement is that you can afford your share and are above 18/out of high school.

Amazing!!! We wanted to stay there again this year, but the way Experient works didnt allow. But its great and the service is great as well. A lot of amenities.

And I'm happy to report that the rooftop bar is as cool as it sounds (sorry, 21+ only and they card - even an old 36 year old like myself - to even go up the elevator!). See everyone in STL!
