Chickens and Frogs and Cows, oh my! :ahh: I like the way this division is looking. Definitely going to get interesting.

It's good to see 314, as it will be much easier to get our rogue "3" back, and return Big Mo's "3" in pristine condition (PLEASE! DON'T HURT THE FROG! :D ).

Also stoked to see 857, but that's mostly for my own personal enjoyment. Much easier to visit when my yoopers aren't a 20 minute walk away from the pits.

We (5571) are rookies, and we'd love to meet people too! Other teams from Knoxville are in other divisions, but we're the only Tennessee team in Archimedes.

Just to clear things up- we are going with ~30 people. It's just that we only have two that have ever been there before. Thank you all for all your support!

Our team is doing some pre-scouting, as I'm sure many other teams in the division are as well. If your team has a decent picture of your robot, can you please upload it to ChiefDelphi (as well as The Blue Alliance), we would really appreciate it!

The wall feeders are happy to see several terrific landfill bots!

ROBOTZ Garage is very excited to compete in Archimedes on our second trip to St Louis.

It would be good to collect robot scouting data for the subdivision. Do we do this with shared Google doc or just post data on CD? I'll post our picture and link it to The Blue Alliance.

Re: 2015 Archimedes Division

If I can get team information from each team in the following categories:

Does the team have a lone 8/20/28 point auto? (There are many autonomous modes, these are just the biggest ones)
Canburglar?
Landfill vs. Human Player
Expected Number of stacks per match and height of stacks
No bins vs. stack with bin vs. top stacks with bin
ability/number of totes to contribute to co-op

Then I can compile all of the information. I am also gathering pictures. I will post the spreadsheet tomorrow probably once I get more information.

Feel free to send me a message with info if you don't want to clog up the thread with data.

Super excited to be at worlds in our rookie year. Our robot has changed a good bit since TBA pic. Check out the Indiana state videos to get a better feel for our bots performance. Like a lot of teams, we've improved at every competition. I've been at this for 9 seasons, and worlds seems to keep getting bigger and better every trip. Can't wait to see some old friends.

Given the ridiculous concentration of Michigan teams in Archimedes, Frog Force can provide a lot of MSC/late district event data.

Team 4334 will be making our own pre-scouting sheet for Archimedes, similar to the one we did last year for Curie. We will be posting it fairly soon. Most of the statistics for it will be based on Ed Law's scouting sheets. Relevant information such as capping and canburglering ability will be on there as well.

2848 - 2 step can grabbers (faster for champs), focus on can capping, caps 6 stacks with ease, can build stacks of 4 from HP, and we can and do co-op, have ramp will tether.

We have some new tricks up our sleeves for champs (got to try and defend the title ;) )

Well, I have some clarification from FRC Team 68.

Truck Town Thunder, FRC Team 68 -
8/20/28 - Working on 20 - Should have it working in St. Louis
Canburgler - 1 - Planning to add a second for St. Louis
HP vs. Landfill - Both - 3 stacks from HP/2 stacks from Landfill (All with Cans)
Stack Num - 3 HP/2 LF
Stack Height - 6
Bins? Build
Co-op - Tend not too but will if the strategy calls for us to do it. Can put 3 first!
Events Won - 1
Highest Seed - 2
Highest QA - 164.83
Last Competition data->

Two corrections, 314 can now do HP(4 stacks, upgrade for champs) and LF(2, also an upgrade for champs) and also has a burglar with some awesome cheese cake. Second, 1023 has also shown landfill abilities so that might also be a both.

Team 115 can now do at least 2 from the HP station (3 if all goes well) capped but not noodled. We're working on getting 2 from the landfill and should have that ready by champs.

Re: 2015 Archimedes Division

Are there any good/great cappers in the field?

If we are making stacks pre-capped we can do 2 stacks with any arrangement of 9-12 totes topped by containers w/ litter.
If we are just doing totes we can do a good bit more, and still leave time for a capper, exactly how much more we don't quite know because we haven't had relevant opportunities to do so.

6 tote stack w/noodled container: ~55-70s
Estimated 6 stack of just totes: ~37-45s (very rough estimate)

LASER 3284 was a landfill team in regional competition. Working on a new 8 PT auton with the 3 cans to complement some of the 20 pt auton teams. No Can burglar, we are bringing a ramp. We can do either landfill (capped 5 + capped 3) or human with new ramp (2 - 6 stacks), can only top 3 with a 3 stack and bin, Highest seed was 7 at SLR, highest qualification avg was 89.17 at SLR. Some video at website www.laser3284.org
LASER 3284 looks forward competition in Archimedes with all the other great teams.

1089 is a good capper. They specialize in putting RC's with pool noodles on stacks. They can grab a RC from any orientation on the floor, even on it's side.
They have a 2 RC Canburglar and can do co-op.

Team 1785 will add a fast 2-canburglar for auto (working great on the duplicate bot). In autonomous (if we don't use our canburglar) we can carry 2 Totes/1RC to the autozone, ending autonomous with 2 yellow totes that are quickly added to the step for co-op - which has worked very well for us in our Regionals.
We primarily work the landfill and can do 3 stacks of 4 w/RC's, 2 stacks of 5, or (with help combining) 2 stacks of 6 w/RC's.

Sorry, my spreadsheet was giving me issues concerning editing in google docs, so I have made a copy that you can find here.

Team 836 is so excited to return to Archimedes!
As some may know (as witnessed by our good friends ROBOTZ Garage!) we had a tough time at our first regional. We decided at our second regional to do a complete make-over on the practice day at Chesapeake - turning one robot into two. We had a much better outing. We have been constantly iterating in the shop with the practice bot, and believe we are now ready to really compete with Odyssey and Aquarius!

For those who say, no video - it didn't happen ... here is a video of a practice run ...

To add to the pre-scouting, here is our info:
Auton - 0
Canburgler - N
HP only - with automated rampbot
Stack Number - 4
Stack Height - 5
Bins - Top 5/Build
Coop - No

See you Wednesday!

Team 1640

Primarily a human player station stacker. 3 stacker.
2 stacks of 6 with RC and a noodle. One 4, 5, or 6 stack with RC.
We want our RC's laying down. We do not use a ramp.
We can landfill if pressed to do it. Best would be 2 stacks of 6 with RC. 5 is more stable.

20 point auton, We have 2 different routines to place the stack at 2 different locations. One for quals and one for elims.

2 burglars. < 1 sec. We improved their speed from MAR Champs.

Team is pumped and looking forward to playing with teams from the rest of the country after competing with in MAR .
Good luck to everyone.

I like the addition of the humanoid robot on the field that straightens the stacks! Will he wear a team t shirt during the match??:D

I don't think he will make weight! Fortunately the competition bot stacker works better (and frankly, cheaper!) than the practice one!

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see it firsthand. With the tether being held that high, have you seen any issues with it tangling? Looks to me like it'd make it easier for another robot to get caught on it.

Good Luck and see y'all tomorrow!

Here is video for LASER 3284's 8 pt can auton with practice bot. Should stay out of way of a 20 pt auton or a can burglar robot in middle of the field.

I feel you.

Fortunately, yesterday was the last day we'd be using the practice robot!

Hey guys, Team 2655 here. This is our second year in a row in Archimedes, and we're super excited to be joining you all again! We're about 3 hours out, but we thought we'd add to the pre-scouting info:
Team 2655 The Flying Platypi Robot Specs

•Drivetrain
o Mecanum Drive with independent four wheel suspension
o Drive system dependent on a gyro – field oriented driving with built-in overrides if needed
• Chain Lift
o Four tote lift, individual hooks for each tote
• -Can make up to a six stack
o Single can lift hook, can pick up RCs when standing up or sideways
• -Can put cans on top of a five stack or below
• Multiple Autonomous Routines
o Three tote stack auto
o Tote + RC auto
o Pull two cans off the step auto
o Drive only auto
• “Dragon Tail”
o Fiberglass rods with hooks on the end that can grab two cans on the step simultaneously and pull them over to our side of the field.
• Pi LEDs on the side of the robot

Here are some links to videos of our Demo Bot

https://youtu.be/FckxiOTVp7o --- Capping a 5 stack with a RC.

https://youtu.be/7F2J3asgPqA --- Three tote Auto

https://youtu.be/aUK3BrNvXXQ --- Moving RC's off the step to our side of the field.

Re: 2015 Archimedes Division

Hi, great idea for the pre scouting sheet. Correction for team 201: number stacks: 3 at height of 4. 6 stack is possible but efficient at 4 stack. 4 stacks also possible.

Thanks for your work!

Re: 2015 Archimedes Division

Anyone posting match videos?

Our multimedia team recorded most all the matches, full field, and will hopefully begin posting videos on our team youtube channel. I record closeup video of our matches for troubleshooting in the pit. There is a playlist of our qual matches on my personal youtube channel.

I'd absolutely love it to see the match videos, especially eliminations!

There was a mix up, and we didn't end up recording match videos as we planned.

I can go through and submit to TBA if you get them uploaded.
