Where to eat in St. Louis

Where should we go to eat at lunch in St. Louis. Our team is looking for somewhere with good food, preferably with some good local barbecue, but also has vegetarian options. Preferably closer to the stadium, as we will be walking.

Also, just generally good places for all teams are appreciated.

Not bbq, but 1676 is always partial to the Pi-Pizzeria right down the street from the dome.

Last year, we ate at the Spaghetti Factory which was nice and it's within walking distance but still a bit far (like half a mile)

I also really like the Spaghetti Factory; another advantage is that if anyone on your team has a food allergy/intolerance to wheat/gluten, that restaurant offers gluten-free pasta and sauces. I have Celiac disease, so it's always a challenge finding safe foods in unfamiliar cities, but I had a good experience with that place. :)

The Old Spaghetti Factory was great, I'd recommend Hardee's; too.

This is about as dissimilar to barbeque as possible, but we always get sushi at mizu sushi bar sometime during the competition.

I didn't realize that the Old Spaghetti Factory was a primarily West Coast thing until now. Out here it's just another chain!

Last year we went to a Mexican restaurant a few blocks south of the Dome. I forgot the name of it though :( but it was really good!

Snarfs is great for lunch. Order with the app.

Caruso's Deli is very friendly and makes some killer sandwiches, gyros, and burgers.

From St. Louis, if you want BBQ in downtown, hit up Pappy's, it is the best St. Louis BBQ (and I have tried pretty much all of it)

The thing is, they close when they run out of food, so you might not be able to get there in time... I think I saw 254 was able to get some food there yesterday.

Edit: As someone who never goes vegetarian, I have no idea if they have options for that, sorry.

I wonder why.

3974 had great sandwiches at Planet Sub, about halfway between the Dome and Bush Stadium.

Caleco's Bar and Grill, great Italian food not far from the dome.

Went to Pappy's today. Pretty good!

And great thread too!

Pappy's is a St. Louis staple. Crown Candy has been around for more than 100 years and is very good as well, the BLT has over 1 lb of bacon on it! Pi Pizza is also very good, and if you want St. Louis style pizza get some Cecil Whittaker's, it's my personal favorite. I hope this helps and hope you enjoy STL!

mizu sushi shop, my favourite, only 2 blocks from the dome

prime1000; same location, looks expensive, but it isn't and it's really good
