IRI Rule Changes Vote

I am in no way a deciding factor in IRI whatsoever, but I like thinking of which changes could help a game as controversial as Recycle Rush become more likable.

I took some of the more popular ideas from the IRI rule change thread, so none of these are my idea. Also keep in mind that we should try to keep changes to the FMS scoring system as minor as possible.

Which ideas do you, as the Chief Delphi Community, think will make Recycle Rush a better and more competitive game?

-Replace some totes on the Step with Containers
-Flip the upside-down totes to right side up
-Make Auto worth more?

Wait, is this supposed to be a poll thread? If so I don't see the poll.

Is there supposed to be a poll or a link to a poll? If not this is pretty much just a duplicate of the existing IRI Rule modifications thread.

The BEST idea I heard all season is from Dennis Jenks of 254.
Keep the game exactly the same, EXCEPT make the step cans available the last 30 seconds of the match only.
Think about that for awhile........

Best 2 out of 3 eliminations (drop lowest score)
These are two completely different things, there can only really be one of these two.

Best two out of three is how it has been previous years. This would remove the aspect of averages for eliminations and move it to a W-L-T for elims

Drop the lowest score keeps the current average elimination style but drops the lowest of the three or two (quarters) played

Sorry for the confusion, that is vague. I meant it to keep the avg point system, but to drop the lowest score. I'm sorry for those who thought it was a W/L vote.

What about eliminating a tether requirement for passive ramps? Allows teams to use their can burglars and ramps in the same match without having to tether their ramp to a partner. Or, allow just the tether to pass through the Autonomous Zone before the match begins.

That'd be great for teams that didn't need a can at the start of their stack and for teams like 27 that focus on capping six stacks. It would not be good for other designs like 254, 1114 and ours though.

For the flipping landfill totes idea, in the other thread, Billfred suggested having alliances be able to choose whether or not that back line of landfill totes was flipped or not, such that teams with specific canburglars wouldn't be affected by the dimensional change.
I personally think thats a genius way of doing it.

Why is everyone against the upside down totes? Isn't that part of the challenge? Our robot is able to manipulate upside down totes in multiple ways, as is 2337 and I'm sure a few more that I'm missing. Probably more bots than you expect with a wheeled intake can suck an upside down tote in as a base for a stack.

There seems to be a good amount of great ideas I missed, so I'll make a new poll soon with new ideas, and I'll keep some of the other poll options that have a good number of votes.
