Kettering University LITE Program - For Girls Interested in Engineering
Kettering University sponsors a program called LITE (Lives Improved Through Engineering) every summer. LITE is a two-week residential program, which introduces 11th grade girls to what engineers do and how they significantly improve people’s lives by applying math, science and technology to problems.
This year's LITE Program will take place on the campus of Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, July 19-July 31. We'll select 36 participants from across the country. The camp is a highly selective program. Program highlights include:
If you are a smart, creative, and inquisitive young woman with a strong interest in math and science and who will complete the 11th grade by July 1, 2015 we encourage you to apply to LITE today. The deadline says May 8th, however, if you are truly interested, still apply, a late application will still be looked at up until May 15th. I was a LITE participant and a mentor. Feel free to contact me with any questions (schuller.hayley@gmail.com). This is a great opportunity and I truly have benefited from the leadership skills it promoted. This looks really neat, but my summer is packed with summer classes, robotics enrichment, a short family vacation and volunteering. I'll suggest it to some friends of mine though!
